Okay, now that the begging is over and done with...

After exhaustive searches and attempted fixes last night and all night tonight, I'm BEYOND frustration regarding my new NX73V and the WL110 WiFi card. Having never used a PDA to get online and not knowing what to look for or how to configure it, I've tried my best to follow the many instructions I've seen on this and other forums. The Mobile Connection Wizard didn't do the trick, either. Let me try and describe my situation:

When I go to Netfront and hit the "connect" icon, I get the Prompt which asks if I want to connect. Of course, I hit "OK". Next, I get a screen that says Connection Progress with a message that first says "Initializing Device" (very briefly) and then "Connecting Wireless" and then "Connected". But when I try to get on the web, (after about 30 seconds) I get a message that says, "Invalid network settings".

Keeping in mind that you're speaking to a complete idiot, can anyone tell me what I might be doing wrong here? Remember, I've been to the "Wireless" forum and tried most of what I saw there, but to no avail. I just got this NX73V yesterday and after loading all the stuff on the CD, I only have 576K of free space. What can I dump to increase my space a little?

Alot of poeple complain about simmilar problems. I have never had this problem but I will try and be of help anyway. Do you connect ad-hoc (to your computer) or infrastructure (to your access point)? Once you connect, instead of typing in a website to go to type "http://216.239.39.99/" without the quotes. Does that work? If yes then you are having problems with your dns.

I guess I should've mentioned that I have a NETGEAR MR814v2 router. And I changed to "Ad-hoc" after I read a post last night in the Wireless forum. After "timing out" trying the URL you gave me, I switched over to Infrastructure. Now I can't connect at all. ???

Also, I would suggest going into 'Preferences' -> 'Network'-> 'Service' - > then select "Wireless LAN" and then adjust details to your specs. Best of luck!

Thats strange. All I did was give youi the ip address to google.com to see if your DNS was having problems.

I got a same error message, but then I realized that I was entering the website name in wrong. Make sure to just double check your settings. If things are still wrong, post what settings you have and that way we all can get a better understanding of what's really going on.

mailrail, I have the exact same router as you. Here are some tips:

1) Switch to infrastructure. Ad-hoc is for sharing a network with say a lap top.
2) Invalid Network Settings for me has usually meant that netfront couldn't find the page requested. Why it doesn't say THAT like every other browser I haven't a clue.
3) Uncheck Power save mode in the WLAN advanced settings.

BTW, you may want to free up some RAM. You run into some issues with small of RAM space. For example I have 6 MB of RAM free. You shouldn't need that much, but I would suggest freeing up another meg or two. You can move programs in Ram using Jackflash.

By freeing up some space you should have a comfortable experience surfing the web and downloading email.

BINGO!!!

I bought and downloaded JackFlash to free up gobs of memory and connected with no problem. Thanks to all for the help.
