I'm a longtime user of LauncherX and am evaluating ZLauncher and have a question about creating a shortcut. On LauncherX, creating a shortcut is as easy as dragging the app icon to the MS icon. On ZLauncher, I can't seem to do this. I must go to the category that is basically a directory of my card contents, find the app for which I want to create the shortcut, and then can tap-n-hold on that app icon to create the shortcut. While this works, my MS category takes a long time to load up in the window - painfully long. And scrolling to the app I want to add is time-consuming, too.
Am I missing the "easy," LauncherX-way to do this in ZLauncher?

I have the same question. I am using Launcher X 1.1. I have a registered version of Zlauncher 3.7. I just hope it is because we just didn't spend enough time with Zlauncher and gave up. It seems like everybody likes it.

Hmmm, I've never done it this way... Unless I misunderstand you.
When I have an App in RAM, I just go to the icon of that application, tap and hold, and choose "Move to Card"
Upon doing that, it moves the program and/or databases to the memory card, and creates a shortcut in RAM.
From your post, it seems like you already have the application on your card, and want to make a shortcut to RAM. Try it my way, and you may find it easier.

I have a tab that shows the files on the external media and lets me navigate the directory structure. I don't recall do anything special to get this tab. Anyway, display that tab and navigate to the /palm/launcher directory, and tap-and-hold on the program, A menu will appear with the option of creating a shortcut.

Davel - you must not have read the opening post of mine - I describe exactly what you describe. I am merely looking to see if I'm missing a more "LauncherX" way to do this. The method I described in the opening post (and which you describe, too) involves going to the tab that is a Card contents tab, navigating to where the app resides on the card (usually /Palm/Launcher), then creating the shortcut. I would like to find a way to tap on a card app that has been categorized already in some tab and create a shortcut for it directly - right from that icon in that tab. I use this mostly to disable hi-res on some apps, or to have the sync pick it up for backup. In LauncherX, this is done by tap-n-drag on the icon (in whatever tab I've assigned it to - not from the Card contents tab which would involve navigating through a list of ALL my apps) to the Card icon in the LauncherX gadget bar.
Big_raji - I don't think we're talking about the same thing. What you describe is the typical process for moving an app from RAM to the card. When you do this, there is no "shortcut" created; an icon representing that app on the card is, though. If you have the option so set, you will also see the little MS icon next to the app icon. However, no shortcut has been created. A shortcut is a short stub of an app actually in RAM that maps to the actual app on the card, which is useful for a bunch of things.
I just don't see where this is possible in ZLauncher without drilling down into the LONG list of apps I have on my card! This would be a great enhancement to ZLauncher.
