I'm really taken by the TH-55 and seriously considering a purchase. It seems very close to the updated Newton I've been waiting for a very long time!

I just read the Brighthand review:

However, there is one significant area where the TH55's screen falls short. It doesn't offer complete landscape support, like palmOne's Tungsten T3 does. A few applications on the TH55 can do landscape, but most only have portrait. Sadly, among the ones that aren't landscape is the TH55's web browser, an application that cries out for as wide a screen as possible.

This seems like a serious oversight to me. Web browsing in landscape is a major part of what I would do with this PDA. Are there plans to correct this is a software update?

Also, how much memory would you need to store a full ~100 minute movie for a plane ride? Is this going to be practical?

Thanks!

For decent quality, about 200 MB average per movie, so get a 512mb MemoryStickPro (as I do) at least.

It will be SO nice to have that screen for movie playback (for on the go). It's basically the same size as my TG50, but the movie will be full landscape instead of only a portion of my current screen.
