hotsyncing after a computer crash

A friend of mine recently got a NX80. She has been setting it up and inputting a lot of information into the Clie.

Well, her computer crashed, and I believe she had it reformatted. Is there anything special she has to do before she does her first hotsync so that all the information she has on her Clie doesn't get deleted?

Just reinstall Palm Desktop and other Clie software that came on install disk, Also if possible back up clie to mem stick, if not then hot sync and you should be fine , just make sure under hot sync options that you make the handheld override the desktop.
