Now I'm new to this forum so I'll try to be nice. But I have a burning question to ask.

How in the heck do so many people know so much about a PDA they have not used? ( Brighthand not included, he has used one from his review).
There are five (5) pages in this forum. People have been very adamant about problems, will software work, why this and that??
THE UNIT HAS NOT EVEN BEEN OUT TO THE PUBLIC!!!!

Yes, we all love our handhelds, each with different items (keyboards, video, no keyboards, etc...) but where do all these people think that Sony is making THE PERFECT PDA?
I want one thing & you want something else? Yes?

So again I ask why and how so many experts????
Just very curious,
lateck, :)

I believe the TH is either out already or at least available as a floor model in Japan, so some people have some in-person experience. The rest is pure speculation or reiterating that which was written elsewhere. Goes with the territory on a new model that has people excited :)

This unit has been the subject of many reviews so far Brighthand, PDAFrance, etc. It also has adverts on the Sony site. For those of us who are really interested in this unit, it's a matter of reading & relaying what information we have gleaned.

This doesn't make us experts but it does give us information to share with others who are making the decision whether to buy this unit.

As for the tremendous volume in this forum, I think it's testimony to groundswell of interest there is in this PDA. Check out the PDAfrance site forum threads on this unit & you will see many of hundreds of messages long.

The information was originally revealed from someone who saw the FCC evaluation for the TH55 and TJ27/37. That information included a full users manual for the units, as well as some pictures. That information was available several weeks ago, before Sony even announced the items in Japan. Since the announcement, there has been a lot of industry talk about the units in Japan, and review units have been made available for industry folks to try. That, added with Sony's track record on previous products, make speculation run rampant.

This statement is surprising correct a few ways. Speculation is the Key word :)

well... I don't know about the rest of you... but **I** am psychic.... now if you excuse me, I must go win the lottery. ;) ;)

There is actually a lot of ways to get info, not all of them "good" but reviewers often get pre-release models to review them before the release date to encourage sales. These are usually the most reliable sources, and we even had one post here at CS. :)

There was a lot of pre-release speculation based on the manditory FCC filing due to the wireless capability, so manuals were submitted there and those were found and made available to people here.

Then info started trickling out on the software changes, etc. :)

Thats right alot of things changed during the talk and the release. This is not uncommon with devices. cahnges always occures from the planned release to the units are packed realy to ship.

I want to learn as much as possible before I get the model in the mail. If it shows up at local store, I will swing by an get a look.

Reviews are the best followed by experienced user asking the right questions.

Yes it was. Expensive, but worth every penny.
