what GPS solutions are for NX series ?

I know there is a GPS mouse and a GPS memory stick.

with GPS mouse there is no way to use the GPS outside of a car i.e. in terrain ..

GPS memory stick isn't compatible with applications..

so is there any way how to make from NX series kinda garmin iQUE ? is there any GPS sled or something like that ?

you need to establish a gps connection either wired (through your serial port or BT gps stick), or wireless via bluetooth.

currently there are no sleds available.

although it would not be too difficult to rig a homeade device with the serial/mouse gps.

i am assuming you do not have a cf slot.

the disadvantage of the BT gps stick or BT MS is you then have no external memory storage. while the sony BT gps stick is not nmea and u.s. compatible, that might still work for you orol since you are not in the u.s. (i don't know what your gps standards are)

semsons.com has a wide assortment of gps serial receivers. same goes for the big retailer mobile planet.

oops, i meant only GPS stick, there is no BT GPS stick.

check out gpspassion.com -- they now have more palm os users (it was primarily a ppc / gps site), and lots of suggestions

I thought that pdafrance.com reviewed several wireless (bluetooth) gps accessories, which might be compatible with palm os devices.

Take a look at the CF GPS thread...there are quite a few of us that have CF GPS cards that work, although only with one software package for now (Palm Navigator).

i wonder though, what the odds are of another clie with CF slot. given the limited use of the CF Gps driver for now, i'm reluctant to really recommond that option, and prefer the bluetooth option. for me personally, i've found a lot of freedom and use with the BT GPS option, but it all boils down to personal preference and style of use. at the end of the day, having GPS on a clie sure is cool!

Well, I have an NX-80V and for a GPS I bought the Earthmate GPS. I got the Bluetooth option because in the future I may get a BT MS.

I use Mapopolis as the mapping software and it all works great together.

you can find info about each at the following urls:
www.earthmate.com
www.mapopolis.com

Enjoy!

Am using basic Garmin Etrex and Mapopolis. Finding the right cables is the key:

what are the advantages and disadvantages over the Etrex and Cable route?

Just received that kit from Mapoplis. I actually found out that they are using the Holux GPS unit which is supposedly quite good. I have not been able to figure out how to get the detailed maps that you see in all the ads, not to mention the voice commands. My suggestion is to get a widely supported piece of hardware, and get a seperate GPS software package like the one from Rand McNally or Delorme. Bluetooth is good, but they are expensive units and I firmly believe the price will come down in the next six months.
