I have the original PEGA-UC50/S. I will report back to this thread when I have tested it (Mar 4-9) or read an official statement from Sony.

If other authors could post the cradle model type they are using for their new TH-55, it will benefits other TH-55 owners before they open their box.

That'll be great as I have both a PEGA-UC50/s (T665c) and UC/b (from my wife's T615. I heard the TH55 does not come with a cradle so if we can 'recycle' the old cradles that would be a big bonus.

I "sampled" a T55 and bought with me several cradles. It does not fit with any 6xx series (ie 615, 665 ect), not did it fit with the TG-50 cradle. What a bummer, in that it does not come with a cradle.

It is not a 'misprint" re: Best Buys price of 319.00 pre-order. They will sell the unit at that price once they have stock as well.

Just a thought on, the PEGA-UC50/S has a white plastic insert that you could dremelled/filed down to remove the 0.036 in required to make the TH-55 fit.

Just won PEGA UC600 for $24 + $6 shipping from ebay. It sure beats the new one ($100). Besides, it is black too, which matches the TH55 color. ;)

Can't wait to get this cradle in my hand and start using it.

With $320 BB pre-order price matched by CC, I still have $50 left over.  May be I'll use it for subsidizing the 512MB MS Pro purchase.

Yes, but that cradle looks silver. My UC600 is black, so I don't know what model of cradle is shown in the pic. Can someone with a UC600 chime-in, please? :)

The silver one is the UC50 that came with the 665. It is ostensibly the same as the UC600. I have been using the UC600 that I got with my 415 with my 665 for the past year. So if a TH55 works in the UC50 it should also work in the UC600.

The UC600 works fine. I have my TH-55 sitting right now in my T-415 cradle charging and doing a data import.

I also have an old T665 and tried using the UC600 cradle with my TH55.

Initially (without loading any new software) things were not successful. I got a double beep for hotsync and nothing else.

I then loaded TH55 software and the cradle started working. My thought is that many of the ones who are reporting non-success have not loaded the software from TH55 CD.

My question would be, what is the minimum that has to be obtained from the CD, or downloded from Sony, to make the a 'fresh' download of the Palm Desktop from PalmOne work?

Oh yes, making sure that the cradle is connected to a USB port also helps I found.

One more vote: I have two cradles that I used with my T615. One is the black UC600 cradle that came with my (blue) T615. The other is a silver UC50. My TH55 fits in both and charges in both. I haven't tried a Hot Sync with the silver one, but Hot Sync with the black one works fine (using the button on the cradle -- it's easier than tapping the Hot Sync icon when the TH55 is in the cradle, though that works also).
