Hi,
Does anyone out there regret after having the SJ30?
Myself, a little...I should buy the T665 or NR70.
Any comments?

SJ30 is my third PDA...and the best (so far!). Really, really boils down to what you do with it. For my uses as a PIM, reader, play-a-game-when-I'm-waiting-and-board machine, it's terrific. Love the form factor...toss in my shirt pockect and GO.
If I had to have MP3s, surf the net, etc....I would regret the purchase...but then, I wouldn't have bought it in the first place!
I thought hard about waiting when I got it (early January), because I knew something was coming to replace it...but at the time, didn't know if it would slant towards multimedia, or towards a big screen w/virtual graffiti. Glad I didn't wait, 'cuz the SJ30 works better for me than the SJ33 (but I *would* take the better battery and the 66mhz...).

you didn't say why you don't like your SJ-30. Just got mine about a month ago and it's my 3rd PDA. Does everything I need without a high price:-)

I've been very happy with my SJ30, which I've had for about 5 months now. Really the only think I don't like about it is the crappy sound. Sure I'll upgrade when the time is right, but I don't regret my purchase.

I regret buying it, mainly because I found a NR70 a week later for $70 less than what I paid for the SJ30.

I enjoy my SE30 but I miss using the AOLPalm app that enabled me to get my emails when traveling. The modem for my Visor edge was slick. I just plain ASSUMED I would be able to get a modem for it. My fault for not looking before I lept.

Ahhh...one of the two maxims for Sony PDAs...you'll always pay more than the next fella... (the other is the batteries suck...) :D

i regret mine. I saw an NR70V open box at bestbuy perfect condition only missing the stylus for 325.95 exactly a month later

The one thing that is not too cool about all you forum junkies are that your not really happy with what you got, which I think is strange... Remember, first and foremost a clie is a PDA. It is there for primarily PIM usage... You guys want to upgrade your Clie's just like that! Why?
Or maybe Im just new to the world of PDA's, but how long does your average PDA last before you need to upgrade.
Another thing, if my battery eventually wears out, how is it to obtain a new battery pack, and can install it myself? Or is that the ultimate reason to get a new palm/clie?
O, ya, I have a SJ20...

This thread:

...talked about replacing batteries, and in that thread I posted a link to a site that sells replacement batteries for Clies.
As to the other...a lot of people may use a dead battery as a rationale to get a new Clie...with Sony raising the bar so frequently, hard to resist! But if you're unit does what you need, then by all means continue using it. I know a guy still using his PalmIII, although it looks like it's been through a war...but all he needs is PIM support....

I really enjoy my SJ30. I got it for Christmas and it does everything I want, has the form factor I want and had dropped into an acceptable price range for a present. I updated so I could have a colour screen and read e-books more easily. In a couple of years I will upgrade probably again:)

I'm really glad Sony introduced the SJ33 -- it meant a drop in price for the SJ30 that I bought this week. I'm upgrading from a Visor Prism (which I loved, but which was failing on me). I'm a 60-year-old grandmother with no need for an MP3 player, so the SJ30 is perfect. So far I've been fiddling with it a lot and I love it -- I'm sure it does things I haven't yet discovered. Maybe I should read the directions. Nah, that takes all the fun out of it!

Ive had my 30 since november and it is the best for me! I was looking for small color with keyboard and while the treo 90 had that it was as sleek as the 30. Now that the new clie is out im drooling but wont buy it cuz it does more than I need it to.
I love my 30 and when it starts to fail, Ill prob replace it with a 30..:) assuming i can get one that far down the road....lol

When I find a pair of sneakers that *really* fit, I'm always tempted to go back to the store and buy a second pair for later...and that's what I feel about the SJ30! With what I'm seeing Sony doing with new models, they're moving away from what, IMHO, is the ideal PDA!
