CAD$599.99, and availabel Feb 29th. That price is insane considering you can get it for US$399 ($320 BestBuy). Somebody should tell Sony that our dollar is worth 76 cents now. The MSRP should be closer to $460.
The UX50 is still $999 in Canada which is about US$760, compared to $599 in the USA.
I guess I'm going cross-border shopping.

Pretty steep!
Anyone who's buying the TH55 in the US & feeling pretty good about it should consider that the US dollar is weakening daily. Canada's plight could be ours in a year or two.
While there is no political message here, it's something to think about.

Ok, that's one advantage I think Canada has - Niagara Falls Canada is far more beautiful than the American side :D

Aside from more expensive in Canada, there's also the issue of 7% extra tax on top of the provincial sales tax, meaning 15% for about 90% of the Canadian population. Another reason why I left Canada. Free universal health care was always good, though.

You actually save on most cars if you buy in Canada and take them to the US (you pay minimal import duties but save on sales tax and get lower price overall).
For example: A Volvo S60 (sweet car) in Canada costs a good $2000 less than it costs here and that's with local sales taxes that you will get a refund on at the border when you take it back! Sure, you pay an import duty but that's only a few hundred, less than the tax would've been. So, you can save a few grand this way. This also applies to Acuras, come Audi models, etc. etc. (A lot). Registration is no problem. Canadian models are actually North American, so the local DMV's will accept them w/o problems or delay.
