It's a little bit early for this, but I'm curious to know what types of cases will become available for the TH55. So far, both SonyStyle USA and SonyStyle Japan only list generic pocket-type cases under TH55 accessories--nothing specialized for this unit. I haven't seen any third-party cases advertised yet either, although of course these usually come later.

However, I'm curious to see how cases will be developed for the TH55. It doesn't have any built in slots for easy attachment to a case (like many other recent models, including the TJ35, have had). It also has buttons and/or functions on almost every surface--a case that allows the full use of the handheld and still offers protection seems like a real design challenge.

Any thoughts on this? Anyone seen any specialized cases advertised yet? (I'm thinking that there may be a few on Japanese sites before they become available to the rest of the world.)

To me, it seems that I'll be using the same case I have been since my T665, my indestructible Fellowes Datasuit flip-back zipper case. It has basically been my wallet for a couple years now, and it offers plenty of protection for my Clié.

It will be easy to pull out of the case to take pictures or put on a cradle, but then again, the TH55 won't have a cradle unless it works with the one my TG50 came with. I assume it will.

I'll have to put the velcro just under the camera on the back, but it looks like it will still fit as perfectly as my TG50. Unfortunately, the one that seems to be available now is slightly bigger than mine, so I'm grateful to have purchased it when I did. Plus it was only 15 bucks when I bought it at Staples way back then.

Here's a picture of the black version ( I have blue ) Fellowes DataSuit (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00006B9UB/ce/103-4508473-7404644?v=glance&s=electronics&me=A3T4TT2Z381HKD&vi=pictures&img=14#more-pictures)

I can see the difficulty in making a specialized case for the TH55, considering the side, back and top (bottom edge) all have buttons/switches to work around. However I don't think there is much benefit in a case that doesn't hold my credit cards, money etc...and protect it from falls and spills.... especially for the TH55 which already has screen protection built onto it.

I will probably still use a ripoffs case... it is the only case I have every had that does not ripoff my belt.... it has lasted 2 years with the NR.... the velcro is "starting" to wear out.... most would already be history, so I think I will stick with buying a new one, but the same brand.
