Is it possible? What do I need to buy?
Side question: Currently I am using the UX50 as a glorified calander and phone book. How do I learn what this thing can do for me?

I think it can be done, using the mini USB port plus the porper software like the Margi Presentor or something. http://www.margi.com/products/prod_ptg.htm
You can use your UX50 as a mini entertainment center playing mp3s and viewing movies. you can also use it to connect to the internet, to browse and do emails

The margi presenters don't use the USB I think -- they use the memstick slot. Check it out here:

As for what it can do...what do you need it to do? Play movies? Record movies? Pictures? Browse the web? Recieve and send email? Blog? Process Word and Excel files? Do PowerPoint presentations? Function as a scientific calculator? Play games? Count calories?
It can do just about anything you want, with the right software. Check the boards for particular uses, or just check PalmGear for all the great software!

i would definitely use the margi presenter. i've been using it for 1 year now and it works great.
plenty of uses for the ux for me:
- surf the web
- write memos, documents
- do my homework with it
- paperweight...

Xynos: How are you using the margi presenter?
Do you use it on battery power?
Which programs can you use?

I talked to Margi on the phone this evening. They told me they are uncompatible with the UX50 :(
My numero uno need right now is to stop carrying around my laptop to all my presentations. I already bought a 2 lb projector from InFocus, and my goal is to just carry the projector and the Clie'.
Any other suggestions besides Margi?
Thank you all.

i use it with my t3, and yes i use the battery. should be long enough for an hour's presentation.
I can use either the one that comes with the margi, but i prefer the docs to go software.

Rather looks like I bought the wrong product for LCD presentation capability :(

No you didn't, as I pointed out, you can use Mobility Pitch Duo and use bluetooth to connect. It seems like a much more convinient method than the cradle based Margi Presenter

the Pitch product looks great, however, the QuickPoint s/w is *very* limited... no editing slides unless you've got your laptop with you (can't even fix a typo or move an object around)
Very unimpressed with QuickOffice support ... had some stunning failures with QuickWord and QuickSheet on a UX50 and they're not bothering to respond (to a paid customer)

Ahh. I didn't know Margi Presenter was a cradle based product. I was just assuming I'd have to carry an additional cord, and that was it.
My intentions were to eliminate clutter in my car. I tried the Kyocera 7135 initially, but I loaded it up with too much information, and it was extremely slow.
I'll reinvestigate the Mobility Pitch

Another option would be to use images on a memory stick:
- Sony sells projectors with MS slot built in (and Excel export software).
- I have also seen foto display kits that take a memory card and will put the images on screen of a TV.

or get a projector with wifi capability. you can then connect through the UX50's wifi and present that way
