View Full Version : Editing on picsel?
Can anyone verify if editing is possible using the picsel viewer.

As far I know, Picsel is only a Viewer, not an Editor...

Picsel 'viewer' is only for viewing. For editing, you need 'Doc to go' program
Hmm... the picsel site claims that the picsel viewer is able to manipulate the file. Is this not editing or does it refer to something else? Is there something I've missed?

There are 3 or 4 variations of their product. One is a web browser! Sony only chose to use the viewer...
DocsToGo has an upgrade coming that views and edits natively. Seems like there was another product announced recently along the same vein. I expect Sony will have to upgrade to a viewer/editor on the next round of high end Clies....It's too bad the Picsel browser wasn't included as it works in landscape mode.

I'm perplexed? After loading the Pixcel viewer from the Sony CD onto my NZ90, I've yet to be able to transfer ANY PDF or DOC formated items from my Powerbook as I keep getting the message "No program found that uses this type of file" (or something like that).
I'm not sure if it's Pixcel's product problem or a Missing Sync issue so I removed Pixcel to free up space as it didn't seem to provide any useful purpose until I could get it to work properly.
Any thoughts?
Also (off topic), has ANYONE been able to sync their NZ90 to a Mac using WiFi yet? I've gotten online, but can't seem to Sync with the wireless card, even after reading all the NX and wireless fourms on these boards.
Thanks in advance,
Ditch
I don't know how anyone else did it, but I just put my M.S. in the computer, made a folder called My Documents, then transferred the docs I wanted to read in picsel viewer to that folder. Then I inserted the MS into the Clie, and once in picsel viewer I was able to load the docs by accessing the MS. It really is nice to see the docs the way I see them in Word, but they are so small I can barely read them. If I magnify them, I have to move them all over the place to read them - makes me dizzy. Personally, I don't think it's worth it, just to see some neat graphics in the documents. I ended up installing Documents to Go and using it to view AND edit my docs. They're aren't as pretty, but I'm a function over form person anyway...
Hope that helps.
the picsel site is www.picsel.com or just search picsel viewer on google... there a review for it as well.
