At first I thought the video recorder was a silly thing, but the more I think about it, the cooler it sounds.

Why can't the video recorder software from another Clie be loaded onto a TH-55? Is the 55 missing some hardware that will prevent video recording?

Sonystyle doesn't mention Movie Recorder does it? I wonder if the TH55 is missing some kind of DSP for recording movies. It sounds like it has the same movie playback DSP as the UX series.

Why did Sony NOT include video recording capablilty in the TH? Was is that they thought that it was a stupid novelty idea?

I believe the movie recorder function is located in the ROM of the Clie (I have the UX50), and as such could not easily loaded into another unit. As for the physical limitations of the TH55 to record movies, that is a question that is as yet unanswered by Sony.
