Do we need MagicGate

Can I use 256MB (128MB*2) SanDisk memory sticks in my NZ90 - they say they are not compatble with Magic Gate and the NZ90 says it's powered by Magic Gate.

What does this all mean to a newbie??

MagicGate means copyright protection on music (in ATRAC3 format), you need to use SonicStage to check-in/out the converted ATRAC3 songs in your PC. You can use MagicGate MS (white/ navy blue) for normal storage (include MP3).

All CLIEs can use regular MS (blue) w/o any problems. You can play MP3 in all MS (no matter it is MagicGate or not).

PS: MSPRO's MagicGate is not supported in CLIE.
