I've promised my wife that I'll stay with my NR for at least one year, but I can't help myself that I just bought an NZ today... With almost $900 purchase, my wife will kill me when she finds out for sure...
I'm scared...

To minimize the damage, I would 1) sell my NR and 2) buy something she wants. ;-)

If we don't hear back from you, I guess this is goodbye! :D :D

You're a dead man. I did the same with an Apple Powerbook a couple of years ago. As my wife is a non-technology person (read computer illiterate), she didn't notice for a month...but when she finally figured it out, she didn't speak to me for two weeks!
Better take that NZ back. It aint' all that...

I don't know how you plan on getting away with it. My wife said I could buy a laptop almost two years ago, but she still gives me a hard time now and then about it. I can't even imagine just buying something like that and not mentioning it. I think I would follow ndokiman's advice and take it back. I'm sure it's cool, but is it worth the punishment??
Have you tried giving her the NR?? Just an idea.

Cbulock is right - give her the NR.
Or head to her favourite store and buy 900 bucks worth of something that she loves.
THEN, consider picking up as much overtime as you can to pay for this adventure. :)
All else fails - keep moving. It's hard to hit a moving target.

Well, I just told her about it not long ago as honest as possible, and, yap, she is very mad. But everything is fine now after I promise to put her into a one week vacation...
Life is tough, especially when the vacation can easily go over a thousand...
And thanks for the suggestions, everyone, but I've already given her my S300, N710 & T-665 already, so I don't think she needs anymore of these (since she is non-gadget type). :)

Wow! Sounds like it isn't *too* bad! I know you now have to spend money on a vacation, but honesty is the best policy. Good luck!

Hmm, let's see, $900.00 for the NZ, $1,000.00 for the vacation. Sounds like a real bargain to me:D!

I guess I'm the only married person here then that has a good open relationship with their spouse. I'd never buy something this expensive (hell, I wouldn't go even over $100) w/o running it by her. And she does the same.
We *never* have any issues over money. I just must be lucky.... wait, I *know* I'm lucky... :) But I've also got the plus to be married to a woman who's as much as a geek as I am. We both started out with Visor Deluxe's for our wedding presents, and we've gone up from there. Back in August we both got the NR70V's, and we're both just itching to upgrade to the NZ90... :)

Hang on a minute.
Did you ask if YOU get to go on the vacation too?
If yes then your golden.
Honesty is the best policy.
And then there's the comfort in that at least your spending money on gadgets rather than other women.
My vice is old jeeps.

My sig. other knows of my techo-tendencies, and they have a few of their own.
We have three types of money in our house - your money, my money and our money. If it comes out of MY money, then there's no discussion to be had.

Heehee! Laughing at the sig. other problems! Had my own when I wanted to upgrade from my Palm VIIx. I bought the nx (full price), said I got it for chump change as an open box model, then when I upgraded to the nz yesterday, I said that I just traded my clie in for another color. Other people's electronic ignorance is my bliss!!! :D :D

As she tells me, her money is her money, my money if her money!:D
But actually, she's pretty good about me getting my tech fix, as long as I don't crazy all the time!
