Bah, accidently hit send and it won't let me edit it lol. anyway, my question was if anyone know of a software that will allow me to convert MQV files into standard computer video formats such as avi, mov, mpeg and such. Also, a while back, i was able to get them to work by changing the .mqv to .avi, but now it doesn't work anymore for some reason lol, also when i did change the .mqv to .avi the sound gets messed up and error messages pop up. so if theres a way to get around that, plz lemme know. thx
I can watch MQV with Quicktime Pro although it doesnt seem to play very smoothly and I have not sussed that out yet

get the latest quicktime viewer, i believe 6.0. you don't need pro. it will play MQV's fine.

To convert it to another format, you have to have Quicktime Pro. However the quality will not be great.
MQV is highly compressed with low framerate, something like 10fps, while movie video is ~30fps.

Download latest Real Player version 10. Plays MQV files with no problems whatsoever.:)
I bought Quicktime Pro so that I could lighten the .MOV files that my digital camera produces but am very dissapointed with hoe it plays MQV as they play so well once converted to Kinoma for my TJ25

TMPGenc is software that lets you do that ...
Just change the .MQV to .MOV, that works if you use a Mac.
