It isn't nearly as big as you would think, I was totally impressed with how well balanced it felt in the hand. The base unit seems to compensate for the LCD when it is in the open position to make it feel pretty damn good in the hand, I didn't even notice the hump. It's big but it doesn't feel big...

I made the kid at Compusa open one because they didn't have a display model. It's a cool little toy but for $800 I couldn't do it...
