Hi,
As an unregistered viewer in this forum, I am not going to ask questions or to give opinions. I'd like to share some info with other viewers.
Just called Sony Hong Kong to ask for the price and available date of the TH55 in Hong Kong. Now here ya go:
Price:HK$ 3,580 (or US$ 460)
No Bluetooth
Wireless Lan
Available: 24-26 Feb
Includes Quickoffice software
The high price is probably due to the strong Yen in recent months.

thanks!
I'm from Hong Kong too....
but without Bluetooth, I won't choose the TH55
I recently want to upgrade my TG50, and I can't wait, so I got to choose between the UX50 and TH55, but as the TH55 has no bluetooth, I then choose the UX50...

Thanks for the info! That's pretty interesting. I was curious about Bluetooth as it wasn't mentioned in any of information I've seen but it seemed like it should be there. I wonder if Bluetooth is being abandoned? While I've never used it, I hope Sony includes it in future Clies as it seems very handy even if there is a lot of overlap with WiFi.
PS- You should register. It only takes a few moments.

Congratulations and thanks again. So, you thinking about getting a TH55? I can't wait to see a TH55 in person as I'm fairly sure it's the next Clie I'm going to buy, Bluetooth or not.

Hi gklinger.
If you look at the web site I referred, you may find that the TH37 is a better deal. It is HK$ 1,000 (or US$ 130) cheaper than the TH. The difference from my preliminary reading is the following:
1) The TH has a bigger screen
2) The TH sports the squibble function datebook
3) The TH has 32MB user memory instead of 23MB on TJ
So which one to choose?

I thought China Customers wish to spend over the something thousand shopping at Hong Kong.....
But actucally, the TG50 and TH55 was just $300 in difference when the TG50 first came out on the HK Market. For 300, it's really worth for the Wi-Fi, Camera and HiRes+
Thanks ipod1. That is one very informative link, a "read this first" manual, sort of.

GummyDancer,
I don't know which one to choose now. At first, it was rumored that the TH was going to sell for US$ 349 which is a bargain with BT, Wireless LAN and HiRes. But now....
Also, Sony HK seems to have pulled off the TH55 page (the first link) although the second link still works (it is more imformative anyway)

the first link is still working......
well, if you think Hires+ is really important, then the TH, or not the TJ. There are no other choice except the UX.
Me, myself is also choosing the TH55 when it rumored that there is Bluetooth, but not now... I'll go buy the UX instead.

Thanks ipod1!
The TH-55 intro document claims that you can play music for 24.5 hours with the screen off! That sounds amazing!
You can also get 5.5-17 hours of web surfing, depending on the backlight setting. Again, that sounds awesome!

I have a very old S320 and have been waiting for integrated Wi-Fi and a large color screen. My big worry was battery life, but the TH-55 sounds like it has very good battery life considering the screen size.
I'm not really sure what I'm missing with OS6. I know it has multitasking, but I guess I don't miss it since I've never had it. What other goodies will OS6 have? Does someone have a link with a rundown of features/pictures?

I've been wanting a high-res (320 x 480) device for a long time but I didn't want one that I needed to flip open (like most of the Clies) or pop open (like a Tungsten T3). The high-res display is the killer feature and more memory is always better. It's a shame that Sony tends to underequip the Clie memory-wise. I would drool if the TH55 had 128MB of RAM. That would be sweet and I would gladly pay $100 more for it. Regardless, I think the TH55 is the best Clie yet. I'm 99% sure I'm going to buy one. I just need to hold it first to make sure.
Just remove the flip cover, throw it in the drawer and put it back when you want to sell it, just like I did with the N760C.
TH55 has 32MB RAM and 32MB ROM. Hopefully Jack Flash can release some of that ROM for storage.

The TH55 is even on newspaper today at Hong Kong. A Sony Advert with both TH55 and TJ37.
