Hi all,
I got sick and tired of the thin, Hi Res fonts of ACT! for Palm OS installed on my NR70, so I installed FontHack 123 V. 4.0c, which is supposed to work on my Clie, and a few fonts from Cool Fonts.
I also enabled FontHack by TealMaster, one of the suggested hack managers.
Well, I can't launch FontHack - there's no icon, although the file resides there, according to ZLaunch. What am I doing wrong?
How do I launch FontHack?

You launch it from within TealMaster
I use FontHack 123 on my NR and it work like a charm :-)
Two things to note: 1. Look at X-master as it is a freeware and works on OS4 devices; 2. According to my experience, after a system restore (from a backup) don’t let the hack manager to automatically enable your FontHack as this will crash your device. You will need to redefine the fonts in FontHack.
Enjoy your new fonts ;-)

Yeah, I finally discovered on my own that the launch goes thru the hack manager. I downloaded Lubak's fonts and tried them on my ACT! For Palm - no good. There's no compatability. Perhaps it's because the app is already updated for OS 5 but the
Font Hack is for OS 4. Which downloaded fonts have you used?

Thanks to a couple of previous posts, such as that by "unregistered"

and "Sebring"

The trick is to use FontHack for OS 4 with Lubak's fonts for OS5!
I followed "unregistered"'s advice and chose
HrStandard = OS5(0)
and that's it! My eyes are thankful to all the great posters here,
and to these forums' admin for keeping old posts in the archives that long...
Now who said that they can live without hacks?

I use to use FontHack, but I now use Lubak's Fonts4OS4. They aren't free, but I like them better than any of the font I found to use with FontHack. You might want to give it a try.

Thanks, Sebring, for your input. I prefer FontHack because you can choose the app whose fonts you want to change. Do you use the native fonts of Fonts4OS4 or the fonts from OS5?
BTW, I bought my NR70 (upgraded from Visor Deluxe) because at that time Sony had a better product than Palm did. It seems that now it's the opposite. I'm waiting for the end of the month when new models are supposedly coming, and will either get a new model or the Tungsten T3.
Nevertheless, meanwhile this font hack is a great relief for me.
Two days ago I was a Palm heavy user, but have never done anything "under the hood" and now I can hack it, thanks to the amazing knowledge and help coming from these forums!

I currently use the Times Roman Font. Like you, I've been phasing away from Sony. I still have and love my NR, but their failure to support MS larger than 128mb, and the lame support for the CF slot in the newer devices has really annoyed me. Their latest offerings have not suited me for one reason or another. I recently bought a PPC for it's connectivity options, but I doubt I will ever become a strong advocate of PPC. It is a very unstable OS still and decent productivity software is still pretty limted.
