Just to let everyone know, I'm in the process of switching my site to a different host. So my site might be temporarily down over the next day or so. The GOOD news is that I'm getting a total of 300MB storage, which means I can finally HOST all the videos I've been converting. So please be patient while the transfer is in process. I'll post back here when I'm back up and running!

My site is finally live again. All downloads are up, the forum is even working. Hope everyone pays a visit. Stop by, register a username, and download videos! That's kinda the whole point of my site anyways...

Last night, I exceeded my storage space without realizing it, which locked up all the downloads. I deleted a couple of them, freeing up enough space to activate the downloads again. I've requested my disk space be increased as well, so as soon as that's taken care of, I'll put back the videos I removed...

my site is down for some reason, but I don't know why. I've got a friend hosted with the same company and his site is down as well. I've e-mailed tech support and told them to FIX IT!

Thanks! I'm happy to be able to help out the community. I just wish I had more time to devote to the site, but alas, I have this thing called a JOB that keeps taking up my time! But I'm doing the best I can!

A couple new downloads are available at my site. I converted the 3rd episode of The Animatrix, named Detective Story, for both the NR and the NX.

Thanks! I've been working almost day and night on my company's website for the past couple weeks, which hasn't left much time for updating my own site, but I'm doing the best I can with it. Either way, I love hearing from people who use it, be it praise or criticism...but I prefer the praise:)

You are doing a great job! The irc stuff is too complex for me, I'd rather check out the stuff you have . What would be even better is to have the final Matrix trailer on your site for the NX especially with sound.

hey mjpd1 - I jus assumed that most of the videos on your site were in either the default sony movie player format (.mqv) or in mpeg format. But I just downloaded the three animatrix movies that I've been wanting to see and the first one I unzipped is in .pdb format.
Isn't that what I need kinoma player to view? I just recently removed kinoma player because I didn't see any reason to use it... :)
Please enlighten me

Hehe yeah, sorry cjones. All of the videos I've converted require Kinoma Player to view. So if my site's gonna be of any use to you, you're gonna have to reinstall Kinoma Player...Sorry!
And "unregistered", I've actually got the newest Matrix Reloaded trailer, for both NR and NX, converted and ready for upload. I'm just waiting for my request for additional storage on my server to go thru. As it is, I have about 13mb of FREE space on my server. So as you can imagine, I need a bit more room! But keep checking back, they'll be up eventually.

Sometimes I get lazy and I don't log in, thats why the unregistered user ID shows up, but I signed up on your mjpd site already. I also emailed you asking for the final matrix.
What kind of programs do you use for converting videos to clie? Most people on the forum use Kinoma Producer. I just have image converter that comes with the clie. The folks that have Kinoma still have problems converting certain clips. Anyway, I check the site for updates. Thanks.
mjpd1
04-15-2003, 08:41 AM
Yes I also use Kinoma Producer. Never even tried Image Converter, but maybe I will someday. I haven't had a single problem converting any clip with Kinoma Producer, aside from those with copyright protection. So I guess in that sense, Producer is doing it's job!

Sorry, I have yet to register on your site, in part because I do not have my clie yet. I should, but i got in car wreck and that set back my savings a little.
Anyway, I am very interested in what you are doing and I was wondering if you would be, or already have, NX movies with sound.
mjpd1
04-17-2003, 12:04 AM
Yes, I just started a section of downloads on my site specifically for the NX, all with sound. I took the top NR downloads and converted them to NX, and now I do everything on both formats.
By the way, sorry about the car accident. If you go to my site and scroll down a bit, you can see pics of my accident from last week!

mjpd1, two words: You rock. Thanks for all your hard work for us Clie users out there. And dude, I'm sorry about your car. My sister drives a Galactic Blue Jetta 1.8T, tricked out with an APR chip, lowered suspension, 18in rims, full window tint, carbon fiber dash kit, blah, blah, blah... There's someting about those Vdubs that seems to get under their owner's skins... She'd freak if anyone so much as looked at her car funny, let alone rear ended it at 50mph. You have my gratitude, and sympathy.

Thanks for your kind words! I love hearing from the people that use my site.
:eek:I was hoping they'd total my car so I could get a Galactic Blue VR6, but oh well. Does your sister have any pics of her car on the web?? She'd fit in well here in Columbus! Tell her to check out www.OhioVW.com. All my friends ride Dubs. We get together every week to drink and go to as many car shows as we can. But we ain't those Honda-punks with the coffee-can on our exhaust and neons under the car...we got style and class:cool:

I'll be sure to let her know about your "other" site. Yeah, she's kind of fed up with all the rice-burners she has to teach lessons to on a daily basis out in LA. The problem is, at least in LA, that some of these guys actually do add turbos and NO2 to their Civics. This is why she's in the process of replacing her exhaust, installing an EVO CAI, and hooking up a nitrous system. Needless to say, her warranty is toast.
I think she has some pics of the "Blue Devil" up at www.vwvortex.com, but I'm not sure. With the exception of her rims and suspension drop, the car looks pretty stock. She doesn't want to attract too much attention, lest her quarry loses their nerve at the stoplights. Also, considering she works on the studio lot at Warner Brothers as a Creative Executive in their Theatrical Productions division, she tries to keep a low profile in the parking lot. In any case, I try to steer clear of this stuff, lest I become similarly affected - we are twins, afterall, and I've got other things to spend my money on, namely, "Ingrid,", my MB E420 - a Hypertech ECU chip, K&N airfilter, and a Borla exhaust is as far as I can afford to go. The cost of living here in Manhattan is a bit higher than in LA...

PS - Just to get back on-topic here, as soon as I get my PayPal account up and running, expect a little something for for the "cause." Cars are cool, and all, but Clies are cooler.

Ahhh the Vortex. The site that brought me into the world of Dubs. Well I just got a call from my insurance rep today and I should have my baby back by the end of the month! I can't wait...I hate rentals...
But anyways, back to the reason we're here. I've added a couple new downloads to my site. First off, the much talked about and anticipated Matrix Reloaded Final Trailer, converted for both NR and NX. Also for download is a Honda commercial that you've just GOT to see. I'm not gonna make it a habit of converting lots of commercials, or supporting Honda for that matter, but this is truely ingenious and will no doubt become a part of advertising history. So check it out!

I hate to keep bumping my own thread, but it's easier than making a new one. Anyways, just added some new movie trailers to my site for NR and NX. Tomb Raider 2, Cradle 2 the Grave, and The Italian Job. So check them out sometime...

Read on your site:
----
· Which Clie's will these videos work on?
These videos will work on both the NR and the NX series Clies. The videos are divided into these two categories so you can distinguish between them.
-----
I have a TG-50. Does this mean I'm SOL, or is there a way that I can get these movies playing with audio on my clie? Either way, I salute you and your noble cause... :)
acraniotes
04-22-2003, 05:47 PM
Seeing as how the TG and NX use the same processor and OS, I think the problem lies with your screen size, and not the device itself. The NX movies are formatted for hires+, so I'm guessing that you could play the NX movies, but you wouldn't be able to see the entire image on your screen.
Anyone with actual experience care to comment?
-Adam
PS - Take all of the above with a grain of salt - I have an NR, so I'm only guessing here.
mjpd1
04-22-2003, 10:38 PM
I really don't know. I've never seen, let alone used, a TG before. The movies I convert are at a full 480x320 and widescreen. I don't know what the capabilities of the TG are. I'm hoping in the future to expand the list of models that I support on my site, but I'm sticking with NR/NX for now.
mvfrancisco
04-23-2003, 10:32 AM
acraniotes - good call. I was able to play the NX videos with sound and the NR videos would play, but sans sound. Either way, I could only view the left part of the screen. Thanks for the assistance acraniotes and mjpd, I guess I'll have to find another way to get vids for my clie...
If someone does decide to support the TG-50 though, from what I've seen the included Movie Play application does mpeg and mqv with much better quality and fps on the TG-50 than Kinoma Player.
Thanks again

04-23-2003, 07:26 PM
if I did decide to support the TG-series, or others for that matter, how would I go about converting an MPG into an MQV? I've only got experience with Kinoma Producer. But let me know how it's done, and maybe I'll try a few.

Probably. Buts its easier if somoene else does it for you and puts it on their site, like mjpd.com :D
mjpd1
05-08-2003, 09:12 AM
First of all, I applaud rTenshi's attempt to up his page views at DevArt. Made ME look!
Secondly, could someone give me the Kinoma Producer settings for the TG? There are built-in settings for the T400-T600-T650, but nothing for the TG. The only thing I really need to know is what Audio format it uses. Video would just be 320x320 right? If I had one, I could test the settings out, but I don't, so I'll need someone out there to test them for me and let me know what settings work best.

does it use kinoma Producer? I use Image converter that came with my TG.

Sort of off-topic, but given the amount of "air-play" you give the Matrix on your webstie, mjpd1, I thought you might want to know that the wait is worth it - for the most part. I caught the Reloaded premiere in LA on Wednesday, let me just say that the "burly brawl" and the car chase scenes alone are worth the price of admission.

Nothin like reviving my own thread....anyway, I did a 320x320 conversion that I need people to test for me. It's a short teaser for Reloaded...I know we've probably all seen it but that's not the point of this; I'm trying to find settings that are compatible with the majority of 320x320 devices. So, if you happen to own one of these, please download the clip and test it out for me, and post in my forum on my site as to whether it works, and how well. If all goes well, I'll start supporting these on my site. But I need your help! The file is not posted on my site, but can be downloaded by clicking the following link...

ALSO - PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE - can you make a 320x320 T-Series version of the new Matrix Revolutions trailer (the one that was shown after the credits for Reloaded)? I did not know about it and left before the credits and can't even find it on the 'net. Also, while I'm begging, I'd love to get the Second Renaissance Parts I and II for the same. Possible?
