Unit Hard resets on its own every few hours

I have tried everything, right down to only using the unit "as-is" after a hard reset. Nevertheless, it does it again every few hours. Anyone else had this issue? What has people's experience been in getting Sony to fix an item under warranty?

I don't know if we can help, but why on Earth wouldn't you tell us what "unit" you're talking about?:confused:

Gonna go out on a limb here, but I'd bet it's an NR70, or NR70v.

How old is your unit?
Do you do anything before a hard reset?

Never heard of such a thing, have you checked if your reset button is stuck? I would call sony support, or even better in my oppinion, use their online chat support at sony chat (http://sonystyle.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/sonystyle.cfg/php/enduser/live.php) ;)

Yeah, it is an NR70V. I have tried letting it run only on the original software, but it is still reseting. Sooo bummed.

Try letting the batteries run down all the way till the point of it not turning on at all. Then charge it up for 4 hours, soft reset it, and hope it works.

is it really "hardresetting" or only "softresetting"? I would have absolutely no explanation for the first, but for the second there were (or still are?) hundreds of threads concerning the "MS resets by itself" problem... or check this site:
