PalmGear is my first choice. Developer's sites if they can handle the sale process since their share iof the profits are not diluted by a middle man. Handango -- NEVER.

I usually try to buy through developer's sites if at all possible.

Um... could some of you anti-Handango folks elaborate? I was actually considering buying from them for the first time.

Cheers

I also buy directly from the developer when possible.

PalmGear was my first choice for many years, and I still use it alot, but I'm not happy that they no longer provide links to the dev's site, and GAWD! the PG search engine is the worst!

I've bought a few apps from Handango. No problems, and the buyer's points are a nice touch.

I still tend to check PalmGear first, but agree with WaryCary: their search engine is decidedly flawed. I still like the "My PalmGear" page that allows you to monitor your software for updates, which I find quite handy. I usually check their "New" page daily ["I'm not an addict. No, I'm not!"] and then check developer websites for additional info. If I can buy from the developer, I do, although I like the convenience of PG having my information at hand.

I have had problems with their customer service several times, however. I've been very specific in my emails, and usually get a "pre-programmed" response, which is less than satisfactory. It usually is resolved eventually, although I'd give them a C+ at best in the customer service department.

I don't like the Handango layout, and find it harder to discern the information I'm seeking.

So, until something better comes along ... PalmGear.
