Okay, I sort of need this answer very soon:
I was planning to pick up an NX80v at a local compusa store sometime this week. However, on their website, it appears that you cannot check if the item is in stock locally because they don't stock the item in-store at all...nation-wide. Can anyone confirm this? If this is the case, I will have to make my order online very soon from another website to take advantage of the rebate. Perhaps at compuplus.com?
Does anyone also know if the item must be shipped by the time the rebate expires? I assume this would be the case.
Anyhow, any info on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Don't shop at CompUSA. The company is run by idiots. They don't care about you - just your money. Yeah, yeah, just like other companies. Go get it from Best Buy or something. Or even better, online.

I've had GREAT service and POOR service at CompUSA, depending on the store. I don't think you can make this broad a generalization. Sometimes it just serves your purpose. I bought my extended warranty ($99 TAP) from them and was assured by the manager this meant replacement by same model or comparable model if it in stock for any reason, including screen breakage. I got this for two NR70V's (one definately has problems) and my NX70V. It's been a year....haven't had to use it yet, but I expect I will before the two years is up....and sure hope I'm not in for rude awakening! Let's just hope they don't take Best Buys route and discontinue PDA's.

My experience with CompUSA has been similar to Dripps...
I've had GREAT service and POOR service at CompUSA, depending on the store.
I think it must have something to do with the in-store manager. My store of choice has been VERY accomodating. I've used a TAP warranty X2 on a Clie with no problems, exchanged a computer, received good information and technical service; in short, the customer service has been outstanding!
As far as their website, it is possible to check the inventory of each individual store on the web and have them set the item aside for future pickup. But if they don't carry the item, they don't carry the item:) Good luck!

They carry the full line at my local CompUSA, so you may be okay.
As far as their service goes, yes it sucks, but once I'm out the door with my goodies it doesn't matter any more. Boggles me how they make any money as hard as it is to get somebody to sell you something.

Thanks for the responses. I plan to check them out today or tomorrow. Hopefully they'll have some in stock. If not, I guess I may have to resort to getting one online.

Online it says Compusa has none. Wonder why the price is LESS than NX73??
