Not sure exactly what your'e looking for, Chris, but go to palmgear.com and search for "guitar" and you'll pull up 39 programs...what you need may be in one of those...

haven't seen any tab editors, but there's lots of chord and tuner programs. that's an interesting idea, though...

Have you tried songbook? Since I'm new to guitar this might not be what you're looking for, though I found it pretty neat.

I own SongBook, but it doesn't allow tabulature in it. Sure would be a nice tool for someone to develop (hint, hint).
