Hi all, I'm planning to buy the NX70V really soon. I use a Mac (OS 10.2.3). My question is, are 3rd party browsers such as Blazer, WebproV, Isilo or AvantGo compatible with Mac or just PC only? How about Dataviz mail?

In order to install these programs on the NX, I would also need the Missing Sync right?

Thanks in advance! :D

I'm not sure if the missing sync supports NX models, I don't think they even support NR yet. So that's something to think about as well.

iSilo supports the Mac and the NX. It even comes with its own Mac Gui app (http://www.isilox.com/download/index.htm).

Dunno about the missing sync thingy.

Missing sync has been uodated. It ships as 3.0.4 with full support for the NX series. Seeing that the NZ is NX but beefed up, it should work for all models now. The update is here ftp://ftp.markspace.com/pub/mspace/demo/missing_sync_3.0-3.0.4.sit (you need at least full 3.0 for it to work).

Ahh, good. Now I can finally use my NR with my PowerBook.

I know Dataviz isn't compatible with Macs (according to their website), I used to use AvantGo with Mac OS 9x which worked fine, Blazer is a browser for your Palm device to hook up to the Internet with, and as far as I am aware it isn't used to connect up to your PC/Mac, so compatibility shouldn't be an issue.

I have an NX70, OS 10.2.3, using Missing Sync 3.0.4 flawlessly. It's only needed to connect with iTunes to move mp3 files over, launch the memory stick on the desktop, or iPhoto to move pictures over (although this really isn't needed since you can literally move the jpg file to the memory stick). One question I have - is there a product like Intellisync for the mac that would allow movement of more fields from the Clie to say Entourage? Right now, the Palm Desktop software appears to handle extra fields much better than Entourage and the Microsoft supplied sync software.

Missing Sync worked flawlessly for me with my NR70. However, my new NX70 is a different story. For the life of me, I cannot get it to sync with my iMac and 10.2.3. As soon as the screen says "proceeding to sync" (or somesuch language), it hangs. I either have to reset the Clie, restart the Mac, unplug/plug the USB connection, etc. Now that doesn't even work.

I have written Markspace about this at least a half dozen times and have never received a reply. I'm also uncertain as to whether 3.04 is really out of beta. Some people say so; the press release for MacWorld made it sound so; but the website still talks beta.

Any thoughts? Help!

I had similar problems with syncing the NX70 when I first got it using an older version of Missing Sync. I am using 3.0.4 and whether it's beta or not, it works okay for me on my iBook with the same OS version, 10.2.3. I have had problems with having it hang with other programs. Namely, WorldMate when it tries to sync during an internet connection. I traced this down to not having the proxies set correctly in the WorldMate conduits. I figured this was the issue because when I was not connected to the internet and performed a hotsync it worked but when I was, I would hang.

Netfront problems afoot here, everytime I try to sync, the palm crashes when it backs up netfront, is there a way to turn off the backup of netfront so it will sync? netfront runs fine on the palm, but I think there is some sort of desktop application it may be missing, that is why it screws up, any suggestions?

Just my 2¢ here, AdvantGo does not work with Palm OS 5 OR OS X. I am searching for a replacement, maybe replacing some features using iCal...

The program Filez and also McFile have the possibility to edit the back up option for each database or program... I use Filez for exactly that purpose, but I think McFile should do it to...

For AvantGo replacement, I use iSilo with iSiloXC for Mac OS X, and Plucker with Pluckerbuild.

I made an instructional page to set up Mac to run Plucker here:

How do you get Docs to Go loaded? I have a Powerbook G4 12" OS 10.2.4 and an NX70. I'd like to get my Excel and Word files on my Clie. Thanks.

Just to clarify...I have the demo loaded that I got from DataViz's website, but it expires in 30 days. Is the Standard Edition on the CD for PC's only? Since we got it with our Clie's, shouldn't we be entitled to a free standard edition for Mac? Or are we stuck paying the $79 for the Mac edition?
