i have a sony u20 digicam.

i'd like to get a clie so that i can put the MS from the camera into the clie and copy photos onto the clie and then email/ftp them via bluetooth enabled mobile phone. (i'll get a BT MS too)

i had a quick play with one of the clies (nx70) in compusa but couldn't get any of the photos to display. the guy working there couldn't either.

on the file browser, it couldn't copy jpgs across saying that the MS/files were not in palm format.

is it actually possible to do what i want with the nx60/70?

It most certainly is. Many Sony digicam owners have confirmed that it works.

BTW, you can't copy .JPGs directly to the NX's RAM -- that's a PalmOS limitation. The NX can definitely read from the stick, however.

I'd say that the NX is still a safe buy.

How can you use a BT MS and send pics at the same time? Does the BT stick have enough memory to do this? With jpg's you absolutely need the memory stick. I don't have bluetooth, so I though I would point out that you need to check things first.

if u get nz90 it will probably work.

the nz got an intgrated bluetooth, so u can use the MS and bluetooth at the same time.

the only problem that you will mostly encounter is the software that is capable of sending jpgs from the memory stich via bluetooth..

Whoops, missed that little issue ;) It seems like the NZ90 is the way to go, then.

well, i was going to copy .jpg from MS to ram then swap for BT MS. but if it is not possible to copy from MS to ram (?!?!) then i guess it won't work :/

ACTUALLY, I just tried it now -- you can actually attach the picture to your email, put the email in the outbox (which goes in RAM), THEN switch out for the BT MS and send your mail. Works like a charm!

thanks for the reply. i was beginning to wonder whether i'd have to go pocketpc and use a MS->CF converter! i'm told there is also a tool called mcfile that allows copying from MS->RAM.

i think i might wait for the TG50 to be released so the BT is integrated. i know the NZ has BT already, but that thing is so huge i might as well carry a laptop instead!

One problem is that the Palm OS ony allows certain formats in RAM. Such as .PRC, .PDB and a few other special types. There is an app that will allow you to use RAM and make it act like an expansion card though. Then you can put any type of file into that space. I think it's called PalmRAMDisk or something like that. It's made by the same people that make the ZIP utlity for Palm (My memory is not working that great right now. :) )

There's a ZIP utility for Palm? Meaning I can unpackage ZIP files that a download off of the internet through NetFront??? Wow, thanks, I'm gonna go look for it!

p_UK -- The TG50 is an excellent choice. That one's gonna be a winner! Note that it's not coming till the end of March, though.

yeah, it has the features i want:

- palm based
- keyboard
- hi-res color
- integrated BT
- MS slot

i'd like a voice recorder too. not sure if it is on there.

only problem is the waiting! at the moment, i'm working in the US but will be in the UK before it is released so i'm gonna be paying top dollar for an imported version if i can even get it easily in the UK. unless... they release it in UK first/at the same time. not normally the case, but with integrated BT, UK/Europe seems like a more logical market.

Yep, it has a voice recorder. That thing looks killer, man. Waiting is definitely going to be excruciating! I'm thinking of getting one as a secondary PDA...

I found the ZIP utitily, it called Handzipper (http://www.handwatch.com/handwatch/fetch.php3?form_sec_name=PalmHandZipper) .

And the same company also makes PalmRamDisk (http://www.handwatch.com/handwatch/fetch.php3?form_sec_name=PalmRamDisk).
