Hi,

Been playing with it for a few days now and I have a few questions if you don't mind!

1. My T665C has 16 MB of memory and 15 MB is useable. Why does the NX73V only get 11 of the 16? Just a basic idea would be great.

2. I installed SilkLauncher from the Clie Apps CD. However, it doesn't show up anywhere on the system except when I look at memory. What the heck happened to it?

3. Why can I not delete ClieRMC? I don't need it or want it but it won't let me delete it.

4. Same as #2 except for some demo movie file called Aibo2. It was in the memory, taking up memory but I couldn't see it....anywhere! Is there a way to browse to find it?

That's what I can think of for now, thanks!

>> It has only 11 of RAM, but you could get Jackflash, and you'll get another 16MB of ROM useable.

2. I installed SilkLauncher from the Clie Apps CD. However, it doesn't show up anywhere on the system except when I look at memory. What the heck happened to it?
>> The silklauncher is in your Virtual Grafitti, if you click the last icon in the bar, you will see 3 options, the silklauncher, the normal grafitti and the decuma.

3. Why can I not delete ClieRMC? I don't need it or want it but it won't let me delete it.
>> It is in rom, and there's no way to delete it, but its not using your ram, so there's no problem with it anyway.

4. Same as #2 except for some demo movie file called Aibo2. It was in the memory, taking up memory but I couldn't see it....anywhere! Is there a way to browse to find it?
>> Try downloading FileZ and delete with it.

That's what I can think of for now, thanks!

You'r welcome.

there is an app called JackFlash which allows you to manipulate the ROM space on your handheld.

It's great for queezing a few extra Mb out of your ROM, and excellent for apps that you don't want to reload after a hard reset, however I'd be careful about deleting native apps from the ROM.

Hi Mazer,

Here's a link to answer the 1st part of your question re the mystery 4MB:

It's heap size, but the article defines it well.

JackFlash is great! JackSprat, the related utility to delete from ROM, doesn't work with OS5 Clies unfortunately...

Here's one thead on JackFlash w/NX73:
