It's only the size... the CF type II is slightly thicker. The CF type II is CF type I compatible.

CFI cards can be used in CFII card slots...
but CFII WONT work in CFI slots cause CFII are bigger in size

Its not compatibility really. Remember its just the packaging size thats different, the way the cards are read and work are the same. Most Type II cards are gonna be your larger cards at 1GB+ and microdrives etc.. From what I have read Microdrives are a pain in the Clie for certian things.

YES, you can put a type I card in there,
YES you can put a type II card in there, hehe since it's a type II slot...
