I see CompUSA has a CF Wi-Fi Card on sale. I kind of doubt it would work, but wonder if there is any hope that it might work on the Clie?

Yes it would work, however with one catch, you would need the right drivers. It is a shame SONY shoots it self in the foot over their blind insistence you use what THEY want you to use in what seems to be a standard CF slot.

The only drivers come with their overpriced WiFi card.

I would love to buy an NZ, if only SONY wised up and opened up support for the CF slot so you could use the WiFi you see on sale, as well as memory, micro drives, GPS, Cell phones ad neuseatum.

Sony makes great PDA's, NO WONDROUS PDA's, but then acts like an anal hole, when it comes to support and logical upgrades to satisfy their fiercely loyal customer base.

Its a very minor rebellion, but they will lose my dollars until they change their stance.
