I just bought netfront for my PPC to replace Pocket IE (which really suchs) and I noticed that the 3.1 version supports tabbed brousing.
Is the netfront on the UX capable of doing this? Or maybe and update? Or is the palm os (5.2) capable of this?
I use both PPC and Palm OS. I favour none, each platform, each device has its benefits and its hinderences. Having both machines to use makes my life that much more enjoyable and orgainzed.

What is "tabbed browsing"?

like mozilla, opening pages in tabs, youc an load links in the background, it's like opening in a new window in IE, but far more convenient.
Tabbed browsing is not supported on the current NetFront that is supplied with Sony Clies.
BTW, "tabbed browsing" is different from "open in a new window", a function that is still present in Safari (MacOSX) despite the inclusion of tabbed browsing, although its application is similar. With the old "new window" approach, you have two separate windows that can be resized, minimized, maximized, ... , independently. None of this is available with "tabbed browsing". Tabbed browsing combines multiple browser panels (sort of like "windowless windows") into a single window. You select between the panels using a tab interface at the top, just below any toolbars. This is very convienient, but since all tabs are in the same windows they are resized, minimized, ... , in unison; this is an advantage at times and, at other times, a disadvantage.
Personally, I like tabbed browsing on large high resolution screens where the loss of screen real estate to the tabs is of no real impact. I find that using them begins to noticably eat away at screen space when the monitor is 800x600. For PDAs, I personally would find it undesirable unless it would provide a workaround for the current PalmOS limitations that prevent NetFront from opening multiple windows at the same time. This PalmOS limitation may possibly be the reason that NetFront for PalmOS lacks tabbed browsing, but thats only a guess.
