Hi!, i have a VAIO PC and a T615C, this team works perfectly, but i buy a new HP nx9005 laptop for my old Toshiba. I install all Clie programs on the new HP with XP pro, but cant syncronize, further more, when i connect the USB cable system doesnt recognize the equipment. So back to my VAIO to make a Hotsync but now doesnt work in the VAIO either. So i decided to buy a new cable, but not work, i installed in a new HP desktop with XP pro and same thing. I install desintall and again, 10 times and nothing. Any of you have a clue? need help? please. Thanks

Juan,
The first thing to try is soft reset of the T615. This will usually set things right. If not, the next step is a hard reset, which you should only do after making sure you have a good backup on your memory stick. I'm almost positive the problem lies with your Clie and not your pc's so a hard reset is sometimes the only way to fix the problem.

Juan,
Things aren't sounding good. If you've done both a hard and soft reset, tried a new cable, and tried setting up the Clie software on different machines, it sounds like the only possibility left is a hardware failure on the T615. It's possible that the ribbon cable that connects the screen to the motherboard has worked loose. If you do a search on T615 and cable here, you'll find some threads about how to open the T615 and reseat the cable. If you have no warranty, you have nothing to lose by trying this fix. If it's still under warranty then it's time for trip back to the Sony hospital.:)
Also, if you happen to know anyone else with a Sony, you could try setting up their machine on your computer and see if it works. If so, you will have confirmed the hardware fault on the T615.

The reseating of that cable fixed my problem! I can't believe it! I couldn't hotsync for anything! Thanks Jim!

You're welcome. The screen cable on the T615 seems to be particularly prone to working loose over time so it's the first thing to check if a soft reset doesn't solve syncing problems. Luckily, it's a pretty easy fix even for people like me with fat fingers.:)

I had a similar problem. Accessories like the keyboard and mp3 player stopped working first then my cradle stopped working. I cracked open my T615C reseated the ribbon cable and used a butt load of electrical tape to hold it in place. I also used a couple of pieces of tape to make a better fit for my stylus while it was open. My T works better than it has in months!
