I have all these ebooks in .doc (MS Word) format. What can i use to convert them to a file readable on my NX?

You don't need to convert them if you use WordSmith or QuickWord.
Open the file in Word and add it to the list of files to be synched.

Or open WinWord and save your .doc file as .html. Then you can use iSilo (in conjunction with iSiloX) or PalmReaderPro (in conjunction with Ebook Studio) to convert the html to your Palm. In my eyes, both iSilo and PalmReaderPro are the best ebook readers.

..or save it as .txt, convert to .pdb using DocReader, and use ReadThemAll to read it! (RTA is my favorite).
BTW: where did you get ebooks in MSWord format?

thanks for the responses. I have started converting to mobipocket, isilo, and wordsmith because i already use all 3 of those programs. I will see which i like best for reading these ebooks.

There are several programs you can get that integrate into Word by adding a Word toolbar and will convert Word docs to Palm formats:
Word2Doc (http://tinyurl.com/5x56) - I use this one...converts to Doc, iSilo, TealDoc, RichReader
PDocs (http://tinyurl.com/5x58)
....there may be a few others.

The advantage of converting a word document into text and then converting it into a palm text pdb document is that it saves a heap of space (a 150kb Word doco is about 40-50kb text pdb file). You lose the formatting and pictures and nice fonts, but the gains in compacting the file to the bare bones may be worth it.
Also - any of the readers (mobireader, TealDoc, Isilo - even CSpotRun) can read the document. Much more portable! :)
