i am using two handhelds. i add different data to each. attempting to merge (combine) the datebook data so both handhelds have same data. i copied the desktop datebook folder from username "A" to the username "B" folder and did a sync, but this method has not worked as i would like. (the desktop software seems to grab data from the handheld "B" and overwrite the desktop "B" datebook file).

any ideas how to get data from both handhelds to match? If i were to do a custom sync by having the desktop "B" (now having data from "A") overwrite the handheld "B", would i lose the unique data which is on the handheld "B"? (my desire is to have the data from "A" added to what is already on "B".

I think the following should work, but backup everything first by copying the palm desktop user folder to another location and performing an ms backup.

Assuming you have username A on the Palm Desktop and username B on the pda...

* Open Palm Desktop, make sure user "A" is selected, and click on the datebook icon.
* Select File, Export... and give the datebook archive a name and location.
* Switch users by selecting user "B" from the drop down list in the top right hand corner.
Note: If user "B" does not exist simply select "edit users.." and add it exactly as entered on the pda.
* Select File, Import... and select the dba file you just created.

that should be it ;)

I sync an SJ20 and a T665c with my Outlook datebook. I gave each a different username of course. I use Pocketmirror to sync between my Clies and my notebook.

Within Outlook, go to view and click on folderlist. All of your folders are listed on the side of the screen. Click on Pocketmirror. Create a note for each of your user names. For example, if one Clie is named Sam, you'll need a note called Sam. If the other clie is called SamX, you'll need a note called SamX.

Then sync each of your Clies and the datebook data should be completely up to date on each handheld.

cool for your post Ian! export from "user A" and import to "user B" enabled "B" to have all data from "A" and from "B". This was what I was seeking. Merci.
