I'm trying to transfer all my contacts from Palm Desktop to Microsoft Outlook 2000 and it simply cannot be done from what I've found so far. I did find a program called 'Pocket Mirror' that will accomplish this but it costs $40 (no trial version available) and I don't feel like paying $40 for something I will use only once because after I transfer everything to MS Outlook then I'll just use that from now on.
Any help is appreciated.

What software are you planning to use to sync to Outlook?
Doesn't Intellisync come with all the Clies?
Pocket Mirror comes with Palms.

Unless you don't plan on adding any more data to either your Outlook or your PDA you will need a conduit program all of the time. You need PocketMirror or Intellisync or some other conduit always loaded if you want to keep all of your info up to date.
PocketMirror is much more easier to use than the "free" Intellisync that came with my SJ-30. I had PocketMirror for "free" from my old Palm III. The Intellisync Lite is very annoying in that it asks you to verify all updates.

The reason I want to use Outlook is because I got a pocket pc (HP5455) and it uses a program called Activesync which is similar to Intellisync for the Palms. I plan on using Outlook in the future since it will allow me to synch with both devices unlike the Palm Desktop. Pocket Mirror did not come on the disc with my Sony Clie NX70V, I looked and looked. So I guess I will buy the Pocket Mirror program to transfer everything unless someone has a better idea that won't cost me $40.

PocketMirror is well worth the $40 investment. It is a very robust application that offers a lot of configuration options for transfering data from the palm to Outlook. I use it and I love it!

Use intellisync that did come on your CD...even if you just use it once and uninstall, though I don't expect you'll do that, it will get what you need done.

I found a better/easier and FREE way to do it:
Go to Dataviz's website (makers of Documents to Go that came on the Clie CD) and downloaded a trial version of Desktop to Go.
Simply had Desktop to go send everything to MS Outlook and then sync'd my Pocket PC and all was transferred.
Thanks for all the suggestions, I guess there are many ways to skin a cat, so to speak. :D

If you never plan to sync your Clie to Outlook then you don't need any software to do it.

More simple (free, re-runnable, nothing to install) :
1/ Go to PALM DESKTOP
2/ select EXPORT ... (CSV seems to be a good format)
3/ go to OUTLOOK
4/ select IMPORT ... (map correctly your fields)

Better yet...
1) Go to PALM DESKTOP
2) GOTO Address select all contact
3) EXPORT to vCARD File (*.vcf)
4) GOTO OUTLOOK/ OUTLOOK EXPRESS, import vCARD
