I got my copy of "jack sprat no stub" in the mail today. I followed the directions that were in the "NX Apps on the NR" thread (farewell dear thread, we knew you well) and was able to get all of the "core" NX apps working, where as before the ToDo app would cause a fatal exception.
Then I installed YiShow and the bubble burst. I was playing around with the setup and got another fatal exception. Before I had the "no stub" version, I was having the same problem. The same also happened with LauncherX.
Has anyone with the NX apps running got YiShow running stable?

I loaded the NX apps on my NR and it runs fine using the built in launcher, launcherX, zlauncher and yishow. did you delete the built in apps one at a time?

I did the following:
-hard reset the pda
-Reloaded the original rom image
-loaded jacksprat-nostub, jack sprat and McFile
-deleted from flash the NR apps, calc, mail, networking, and the
other internet surfing realted files I had no need for
(I had the same configuration before learning of the NX apps and
it ran well with Yishow)
-Used MS Import to move NX apps from my pc to the memory stick
-Used McFile to copy the NX apps to the PDA.
-Checked to make sure everything ran all right.\
-Loaded YiShow
Then I was running everythng through the paces and ended up with a fatal error and the reset button on the screen.
Would it help if I deleted (NR) then installed (NX) one app at a time? Would I need to do any thing like a reset or something else between the delete/install of each app?

I think I may have found my problem.
In the YiShow Q&A webpage they recommended turning off the High Resolution Assist for YiShow as it already supports HiRes.
I've done it and it seems way more stable than before. Will let you know in a few days if it is still going strong.

For the record, yes I did reset after each deletion, but figured it was worth it to be on the safe side. The Hi-res does sound like it could be your problem. Good luck.

So far no problems. I did try to run a slideshow in YiShow without selecting any pictures. Ended up having to hard reset. I had the NX apps in flash memory and did not have a backup copy on my memory stick. Restore got everything going, but I didn't have any of the NX apps. I just reinstalled them but will keep in RAM for now.
Did anyone saved the post which mention installing NX app to Nr70 ....
????

Someone PM'ed me and I sent him this as instructions, they aren't as good as the ones from the old database but it should get you through it.
You need:
Address Book 4.5
datebook 4.5
Memo 4.5
To Do 4.5
Jackflash latest version
Jacksprat no stub
all you need are the appropriate apps and we can go from there. Load up the NX apps like they were any other app. Then you use the jacksprat no stub to delete the original apps out of rom. Do it one at a time just to be on the safe side, it will require a lot of resetting but it's better not to take the risk. Once all the apps are deleted (address, datebook, memo, and to do) all the related databases are deleted as well, they can be restored on your next hotsync. Fire up jackflash to move the 4.5 apps over to rom, it's really not too hard. The key is too have the right version of jacksprat, if you have jacksprat no stub you are all set, if not it will leave a "stub" file behind that will literally give you nightmares. It took me about 18 hours to fix.
