the life of ux50 is getting closer to an end...
A new model is coming out next I bet
So i will rush to ebay and sell my stuff ..
so i can buy a new one by the end of march...
Sometime buying stuff hurts your butt ..
knowing that a new one is coming out...
but its just how life goes...
just like this post people come and go..

I hope the next one is better than before.
With bigger screen and brighter font.
Longer battery life is all i ask
And please be honest that bettery will last

So for for now ill buy a cheap pocket pc for 299
atleast its cheap so i dont mind.

Its my poem dedicated to my soon gone UX50

The person who brought you the nefrontH

I never undertstood how people could just switch PDA platforms like it was changing your underwear. I have been a big fan of both platforms in the past and used both of them, but each time I moved from Palm to PPC and from PPC to Palm, it took me weeks and even months to find new programs or replacement programs that would do what I need to do for that specific PDA. For me anyway, I am pretty much happy with the Palm OS. That wasn't always the case, but Palm has improved alot, and Sony has truely added much more excitement towards that platform. I personally don't see my self chaning platforms in any forseeable future.

But I would be interested in buying the UX50 from you if it is in good condition...

lol
A poem...if it is so important, why switch? :)
I, for one, would want to wait to get rid of my Palm before I had another one...but...that's just me.

I still dont understand, is sony dropping the UX? If they are stopping production wouldnt their site say so? I am still confused like many of us are.

I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't been in Best Buy the other day, trying to replace my UX for one that didn't buzz. The guy brought up the sku of the UX and it showed 2 in stock, 0 on order and 0 expected (in the supply chain). In other words, either they decided not to sell anymore, or Sony isn't supplying them, cutting production in expectation of something better. This would be a little early for Sony to come out with a replacement for the UX50, I think, especially since the rumors of upcoming Sony models are nothing like the UX, but the signs seem unmistakable. I've been wrong before, but I've been following this industry long enough to know that there's a better than 50% chance that February will be an announcement, if not sooner, for something to replace the UX50 and something will hit the shelves that month or the next.

BTW I'm usually the last person to give credit to people predicting the death of a unit or platform. And in this case I would have to disagree with just one aspect of the thread-starter's post: if Sony does away with the UX, it'll become a collector's item and actually go UP in value!

Just kidding. :)

Maybe Sony are revising the design slighty.. But the manufacturing needs to be done before places can stock up..

I mean, I LOVE my UX, little glitches aside, but they must be getting a LOT of complaints and returns on just the buzzing issue alone. Maybe just a slight design tweak would be enough to stop it from happening at all..

So maybe not a whole new model, but a UX50b.. ? We'll see - i guess it'll be out in japan first so we can ogle it.. Although if it looks exactly the same it wont be much to ogle. :) (this might not be a sony-like thing to do at all, but.. They move in mysterious ways)

Why switch when the one you hvae is good?
my UX does what i want it to, i hvae no intention o fswitching to the newer nodel unless it has something i need.

like when i had my NX70 the 73 and the 80 came out, i didnt need any of the upgrades so i kept my 70 until the UX came out with wifi+bluetooth.
