Ok I just read a review on PDANews24-7 on NesEm and this was one of the Pro's that he posted...
Great speed (even on my “lowly” NX80V)
"lowly" what does he mean by that...the NX80 is frigen awsome....I don't know what he's talking about.

Yea, that doesn't make sense.
Makes one doubt the reviewer's credibility for sure.

Maybe in comparison to the T3 since it is 400mHz while the NX is only 200.

yeah but what about display and stuff ... it doesnt come close to a NX80 ... nah !!! there's something not right about that review ..

Yeh he mentions speed, which is to do with the processor, and a 200mhz processor could be seen as lowly in comparison to the T3 as meir87 says

While I check PDA24/7 daily and find useful info there occasionally, if you check their "Vote Now - Survey" you will see that community is heavily Pa1mOne/Tungsten biased. Interesting that ClieSource is the number one "other favorites websites." ;) I think that largely explains the bias toward/against the NX80V.

I also sometimes forget that i have some apps clocked to 400mhz anyway.

what did u use to clock them to 400?
seems that my lightspeed can only reach 300 max
pxaclocker?

No doubt that NX has a slower processor.....NX can overclock to 300MHz+++ but don forget that T3 also can be overclocked!!!

T3 may be a bit faster, but the NX80 is well-weighted, delightful to look at, and a pleasure to hold!
Plus the chicks dig it!

And I agree with you both as well, for I've tried the T3 and really tried to like it, but knew I'd find my self wanting for the wi-fi, CF, MS compacity and other features offered on the NX80.

What speeds of overclocking can I expect on a NX60?

Just curious . . . is the performance increase noticably faster with overclocking? Most of my apps do things instantaneously as it is without overclocking. But then, I'm not a gamer, so there may be where you would notice the difference.

I think games look just fine...200mhz is more than enough...and I think that eventually we'll have ghz in our PDA's lol

I don't think we really need any more power until the PalmOS games get 3D.

spikesdacoolest have you not seen the posts on the oqo pda??
Although it may not come into being its an insight into what to expect in future pdas. Possubly not too far into the future!

Yes, especially when leadonig documents or books (like in Wordsmith).
My games run smoother (but like Spikesdacoolest mentioned most games, run nicely at 200 anyway.
Zlauncher loads apps from both the Cf and MS quicker and is overall just much more responsive (if you can imagine).
Video player runs smoother.
All the apps I use open up much quicker when overclocked.
I don't overclock every app and so I don't notice a huge battery drop, but if there was a machine made that could afford to give up some juice we all know that the NX80 with it's long battery life is that machine!
And with PXAclocker, I get no resets so I' very happy.
The cool thing is I actually timed the speeds with and without clocking, so I don't just feel or see the speed difference, but I know it exists.

I don't recall clocking my NX70 when I had it so I'm not certain what kind of speeds you could expect, but I'm guessing atleast 300 -350mhz.
A search might give you the answer tho.

But when you overclock don't you literally get burned? it'd get pretty hot I would think.

I've overclocked many processors (PCs and Palms) and sure there's always a risk and a chance of overheating issues, but I've experienced no overheating, no noticeable loss of battery life(because don't overclock every app) and no resets caused by overclocking (AFAIK) once I figured out the threshold (417mhz) for my NX80.

Overheating won occur if you overclock it :D
