Are the operating systems for the nx80v and the nx70v the same? I have the opportunity to upgrade my 70 to an 80 at best buy and I wanted to know if it was worth it or if I should just stick with my 70

I guess it depends on a few factors. I recommend the 80v, but within reason.

1) How much a deal they'll give you at Best Buy for your old one?

2) The 80v _does_ offer more refinement in the form, the OS and the hardware (better camera, etc.).

3) Comparisons aside, you also have to weigh your emotional decision. Will the 80v "haunt" you if you don't get it? Will you be happy if you do?

I saw the 2 side by side and got the 80v. I love it. To me, it was worth the wait and extra money.

I preffered the 80V also, but I had an offer for the 70V for real cheap w/ tons of extras, so I went with the 70. My only regret is that I have the crappier camera, but otherwise I don't know the difference and saved $300-400 considering all the extras I got. Hardware-wise the 80 is barely an upgrade from the 70.

If you plan on using the camera alot the 70V is just a toy, get an 80 if ever plan to print the photos!

What the NX80 has which the NX70 doesn't have is the ability to have full use of the 16MB internal RAM, and also an additional 16MB flash memory with JAckflash, making it a total of 32MB internal memory.

Other pluses are as follows.. the retractable CF if you don't usually use it, built in MSPro compability, all programs like netfront, drivers, updates fully preloaded in ROM, native (partial) CF usage, full CF usage easily by installing hacked audio/movie players. BAcklit keyboard looks nicer, and a more vibrant, brighter screen that's perfectly readable even in direct bright sunlight.

I thought NX60/70 had MSPro compability after a driver update.

yup, a driver update that eats into the 11MB available RAM, that gets lost if you encounter a hardreset. Meaning after hard resets, you can't do a restore from a MSPRo stick anymore since the drivers were lost in the reset. You will have to keep a spare non-MSpro stick just for restoring from hard resets

What Ric was trying to say is that 80 has built in MSPro compatibility so that you don have to find and driver for it

i would have to concur..
my friend has the NX70
very sleek and nice model (but nothing compared to my NZ *har har)
but with twice the amount of ram , dedicated CF support, 1.3MP camera (not 2MP *har har) it will be better in the long run

and its NEWER..
NEWER = COOLER
