My NX73V is currently being repaired out in San Diego. I've read some horror stories about people getting awful service from Sony. I myself found it to be quite easy.

I had bought an NX73V to replace my NX70V which I had lost. However, a month or two after buying it, I dropped it about 3 feet and the screen was gone. Nothing on it but lines. There were also visible cracks on the screen. I saved up my Christmas money to pay for a repair, and sent it in about a week ago. The repairs, according to the Repair Status website, started on Wednesday and were supposed to take "approximately 10 business days."

Now I'm no expert in repairing broken screens, but it seems to me that it shouldn't take 2 weeks to fix this problem. Does anybody have experience with this? Does it actually take 10 business days? Do they overnight it back to you when it's done?

There was also a little problem with the price. I was quoted by at least two Sony Tech Support people a price of US$175 for the repairs ($155 for the parts and labor, $20 for the shipping) However, the repair website and the person that actually took my credit card information told me $155 ($130 for the parts and labor, $20 for shipping) Does anybody know what I'm actually going to be charged?

If this topic has already been covered, I apologize. I could not find the answer with a search.

What does the nine days refer to? The number of day after the after you sent it in? The number of days after repairs began? The number of days it took to ship after the repairs were done? Please clarify.

My friend sent his NX70 to San Diego for repair; it costed 180 to replace the LCD screen. But when he got it the dark plastic part that goes in the bottom of the screen was badly assembled, and that created a gap between the screen frame and the middle plastic part of the screen assembly. Very bad overall.

You think 10 days is too long?

First theres the delivery times, and then its not the only clie being worked on.
If you are quoted $155 by the person who took the credit card details then thats what you will be charged.
