 Just got my NX-80 back from sony service - they fixed one problem, but didnt fix the memory stick problem. Whenever I try to insert it - it pops back out, if I hold it in - I get a tones warning of some sort. I tried other memory sticks, and I know I am inserting it correctly. It goes almost all of the way in - I can feel it click onto a slot, but it wont hold the memory stick in. Any ideas ( besides sending back to SONY (again))...

How about pasting a tape over the slot after putting in the MS? :D

Is the little slot on the underside of your mem stick blocked with anything? does it not-stay with all of your mem sticks?

or maybe the catch which holds the Mem Stick is bust .... in that case you might need to send it back to Sony (oops :D )

blast them off if they demand any charges for the repair.

That's interesting. It sounds to me that sony should have gone with a simpler push in pull out design for their memory slots instead of the ejecting mechanism. The memory stick drive on my sony wega TV is broken as well.

The reason this isn't workable is because then the memory stick would have to stick out of your clie so you have something to pull on. This also makes it easier to break the MS.

I'm pretty sure the ejecting mechanism is better because it is more secure for things such as a PDA where the mem stick spends long periods of time in the PDA and if it were just held in by friction on its contact points, it would wiggle and still stick out enough for you to grab . . . .
maybe they should made memory sticks horizontal . . . .

O- if you can't physically put the MS into the clie, you can try a workout routine with maybe a paper clip (NON-jumbo size) doing 3 sets of 20 repititions each.
otherwise your last resort is to learn some telekinesis and move it mentally . . . .
