win-hand works great, but the drawback for most people is the windows only server. vnc is multi-platform and free.
the quality of win-hand I have to say made it worth it for me since I only control windows machines anyways. it's fast & stable enough for my use and can even hide the status bar on a ux50 for full screen remote controlling. looks beautiful!! for some reason, the color corruption on the vg area with vnc always bugged me anyways...

Hello
All of You use better Clie (newer) than NX70V so I didn't connect VNC yet but I must say that I made connection with PC with Bt serial port after few weeks, a lot weeks, is something ...
Is it possible for someone to explain a little config Clie and VNC to make it work, I readed some doc but without luck ...

Yeah there is some kind of VNC for the Palm/Clie. I don't clearly remember what app it was. I think you could also shutdown your PC and I found a link on some of the Warez site. But the app itself was a freeware and no WAREZ at all.
There is also somthing like Pebbles where you can get also access to your PC. But this I didn't tried fully for working and was some time ago.

I donwloaded the free verison of Winhand, but it doesn't allow mouse or keyboard input! You can't control anything, just look at what's on the screen, unless you pay $40, right? Kind of expensive...

No, the only difference between the free and pay versionis security. You should be able to mouse around and type just fine.

About winhand, if my computer is locked, am I able to ctrl-alt-del and enter my password to unlock? I'm not sure I want to pay $40 for this app if I have to go back to my office to unlock my PC first. I can't just leave my laptop open for anyone to stop by and have their way with.
So far I have an adhoc p2p connection setup between my nx80v and my laptop in my office. The distance that I can travel isn't as good as I'd like (based on the p2p connection), but I was able to use winhand to show a developer at my office a list of files that I was talking about, so it was nice to see that I can use this at work for something. Fun and useful. :)
Thanks,
Shannon

I think I need the security though right?

The lack of security bugs me....but I don't use it enough to warrant paying $40.....I guess I will try PalmVNC....it works landscape right?

Don't know about PalmVNC. I'd love landscape. I'll take a look at it. Has anyone else compared the two apps? Pros and Cons?
Thanks,

PalmVNC does NOT support landscape (unless they came out with a new version) and last I checked it didn't even support 320 x 480.

Actually, I think it does (although I have not tested it yet). See;

Wow, VNC 2.0 looks nice. I'm Dling now and I'll tell you what I think.

I am using VNC to respond right now and I must say I like it better than winhand (smaller and faster). My only problem is that they claim to support landscape on the NX but I can't figure out how to do it. BTW, it has many more options for security.

I think you have to set the "Begin at: X: , Y:" values to get landscape. These are located in the advanced properties window under "Connection Properties". I'll try playing with this.

Nope, that only tells it what part of the screen to show you (eg. put 1,1 and it will show you the upper left corner.

I have no idea then. I'll keep looking.

I tried too but can't seem to get it to show landscape....I am using a UX50 by the way.....
You think we need the Dynamic Input Area compatibility PRCs which are for the Tungsten T3?

don't know, but I think the support page said we did not.

I take that back. I don't see anything about that. Where can we get those PRCs?

Ok, I read that on my UX, all I have to do it maximize the silk area then retract it again to get it to show in Fullscreen landscape. However, on the NX, I assume that it still needs to rotate to show in 480x320 landscape right? Perhaps that's when the rotation PRC's may be needed (althought the PRC's are labeled for TT3 only!) Try at your own risk guys....you can get that PRC from the same download page;

Look up 2 posts :) I already installed the T3 prcs and didn't do anything (good or bad) except take up space.

Ok, I got a tip which might work for you guys...don't know if it will work, but worth a try...
Install Only the T3 Prcs first. Do a soft reset, then only install the PalmVNC2.0 . Try it now. If it dosent work yet, try soft reset again..
This method seemed to work for the new game Snails2.0. The T3 version had prcs to allow the game to work in Landscape...Someone tried the above method on his NX (even though it said the prc's were for T3 only) and it worked. ....let me know if this helped
