I'm a big fan of Sony Clies (770C and now NX70V) but the price of the lovely Sony UX50 is more than my wallet can bear.

Although I've really enjoyed using my Sony NX70V, the size of the thing has always bothered me, and I find that I rarely use the keyboard or camera. So, I'm looking for something smaller that offers a good screen, decent battery life and MP3 playback.

I've started to look lovingly at the Palm Tungsten T3 but was wondering what the pros and cons of changing to this model would be.

Has anyone used both models? Whats your preference? Is the MP3 player as good?

Opinions please!

Get the Zodiac, great price, excellent battery life as well from what I've heard. :).

You may also want to post this over at Palmonecity.com in the T3 forum. You may find some users who switched from the NX to the T3 who can give you more feedback on your question.

T3 has much more ease of compatibility as they use SD cards and non-propriety sound junk.
the T3 lacks a flash player, i believe, although it might be able to install . . . . mainly it lacks a keyboard but i actually find that i hardly ever use my NX's keyboard. but it does come in handy now and then.

It really depends what you'll be using your PDA intensively for, but the T3 is great because in almost everything you use it for, the SD media and the large internal memory will be worthwhile. only thing keeping me form switching to the T3 from my NX is that i have 2 sony cameras and looking to get a vaio . . . . although i guess its possible to install an SD slot on the vaio . . . .

I could tell you what I think but I read this guys article and he points out stuff. He never talks poorly about the device but you can compare the features with your NX70..after reading it I found the features on my NX70 better:)

About your Size issue. They are purdy close:P Height is almost the same when T3 is open.
Clie NX70
Height: 5.5 in.
Width: 2.675 in.
Depth: .9 in. (including CF)
Weight: 8 oz
Palm T3
Height: 4.3 in. (closed)
Width: 3.0 in.
Depth: .66 in.
Weight: 5.5 oz

Anyways, here ya go.

I looked at a T3 before getting a NX70V. I found that with no clamshell I would need a case to put it in my pocket...and then there goes any size/weight savings you might have had.

But then again I'm picky so I got a case for the NX anyway :) Admitedly, depending on my pants it can be a BIT on the big side.
