Well, I got it!!!! First one off the truck (it was late). Freezing cold when I took it out of the box to look at it!!! I actually did shed a small tear for the NX!! I don't usually get attached to devices, but it served me well..
My first impressions while it sits in the charger. It's spanking GORGEOUS!!!! The OOOOH factor is off the charts! Size not an issue (it fits in my cheap Targus case witha little room left). Has a good feel and heft to it. Fit and finish are all typical Sony quality. About as big as I'd want to go though. The screen does "look" smaller due to the extra real estate around the edges. The end with the new "tablet mode" buttons is noticeably longer than the NX.
The stylus takes some dexterity. I have to hook it with my fingernail to pop it out. An aftermarket chrome jobber would be a nice upgrade esp. if it was a little more graspable. Size-wise it's no smaller than the NX stylus and to me doesn't look as cheesy. I'm guessing cuz it's one solid color.
The stand is the weak part for me right now. It's plastic whereas the NX was metal. Probably a cost issue with the extra ports. It looks great sitting on the desk with the NZ in it til you plug the cords in. They hang out the side with big fuse things on them. Clunky... I'm almost certain I will configure the wireless hotsync on this one and move the cradle to the bedroom for nighttime charging and alarm functions. As of right now I can't insert it into the cradle without picking it up and using both hands. Whether practice will make it easier I don't know, but it certainly is MUCH trickier than a cradle with the connecter on the bottom of the PDA!
CC treated me very well. I was able to initially talk with the store director and the trade up was handled by the store manager. Total cost to upgrade was $212. I've been buying ALL my electronics there and will certainly continue to in the future...
Come on , charger!!!!!

Oneeye, it takes you 5 hours to trade your NX, it must have been a tough negotiation.....Congratulation !!!!!! Post more stuff on the NZ while I am waiting for another 10 days before I can get my hand on it. Keep me drooling...

Congrats Oneeye - way to go :)

I had to be the nice guy and give my Nx to the sig. other...this is the longest weekend of my life. How many hours are in this weekend? 8000 of them? And they all have 120 minutes packed into each hour.

I'm going back to the window to listen for the purr of the FedEx truck and drool...

Davy, Said I wanted to upgrade to the NZ flat out. No lies, no spin... The warranty is supposed to allow you to do this once, but you void the warranty and have to buy fresh... I think it helped dealing with management rather than underlings as well... Honesty and a good attitude will always get you farther in the long run...
BTW, it's still charging!!!! Over 4 hours... I'm about to go nuts!!!!

Congrats oneeyesquare. I know you are going to love this Clie. Re: the stylus. I agree that it's no cheesier than the NX one. One of the real irritants about the NX was you had to remove the stylus before putting it in the cradle...otherwise you couldn't get to it. With the NZ, you just reach over and slide it out of the screen part and its ready to use. I know it was probably one of those "design" things but the more I use it the more I like it. Let us know what you think about the keyboard when it gets charged.

Good for you.
Using the compusa warrenty I went from a Ipaq to HP to Ipaq 5455 to another HP 5455 (1st was defective) now today 12 days later, my send HP 5455 is defective. They came me store credit of $724(around there) and NO FRIGGEN NZ90 yet. :( they have a ad at the store for it for tomorrow, but they are saying they have none. But they have been known to hold stuff for an ad.
I'm crossing my fingers. Thats one thing about Hawaii, we get stuff later, and no Sat delivery.

Don't feel bad, I tried CompUSA here in Bellevue, WA and they didn't have them yet either. But, Circuit City did so they got the business this time :D
