There's a chance one of your databases managed to get corrupted. Do you have anything installed, or just the original Sony software?

lots of stuff is installed heh, I use it daily... That could be understandable, but like i said if I do hard reset its fine, but if I backup even from my backup file made last week that worked fine, after the hard reset, it still gives me the message...

*HARD* reset?

Have you tried a warm reset? A warm reset should bypass any hooks by misbehaved applications, and allow you to run okay.

Sounds like after a hard reset you're just loading the bad app/database back on, which causes the problem all over again.

Try the warm reset and only using built-in apps for a few minutes. Then, start using third-party apps one at a time, until you locate the misbehaved one.

The best thing to do, by far, is to reload everything back on from scratch. It will take hours, but you'll have a clean system when you're done.

When my new TJ35 arrives, I have planned to reload everything on it from scratch. It's taken me hours to download all the most current versions of apps I have loaded on my SJ now, but I think it will be worth it in the end.

One suggestion I would make to you:
Get Uninstaller (northglide.com)! I have used it for a few months on my SJ20 - it is well worth the money. What Uninstaller does is keep track of everything that gets installed with a particular application. Some apps install databases and other files which do *not* have the same creator ID. When you go to delete the app, those files get left behind. Eventually (if you "try" every interesting-looking program, like I do), your device will fill with orphaned files. Uninstaller takes care of the housekeeping, and keeps your device neat and clean.

I do speak from experience. When I got my SJ20, I just sync'd it with my IIIxe files. Two things happened. First, I put files on my Sony, which don't belong there - they are IIIxe files. Second, I put all kinds of leftover data, from programs long deleted from my IIIxe, on my new device. I'm sure some of the instability I experience is a direct result.

I've resolved to take the time and do the install right when my TJ arrives. Uninstaller goes on first, then the rest of the dozens of third-party apps I normally run. Hopefully, this will lead to a more stable and reliable device in future months.

Yeah, cash is always in short supply... Sometimes Handango and/or PalmGear run specials (if you get their e-newsletter). You can usually save a buck or two that way.
