Epson announced the P-1000 photo viewer for the American market finally. Here's some info on it:

10 GB hard drive, CF slot, higher pixel density than the Clié, 3.8" screen. Aside from this, our NR/NX 70, 73, and 80's are just as good if not better. Except for one thing:
No Decent Image Editing Software for Palm OS 5!

The Pocket PC market has amazing software called Pocket Phojo (http://www.idruna.com/pocketphojo.html)by idruna. With some decent image editing software our Clié's would be much more useful than anything like this proprietary OS Epson.

This device though is the shape of things to come, except with a useful OS. Will Apple actually come out with a video iPod or will they throw away that opportunity? When will Palm/Sony release a hard-drive based POS device?

Fortunately (and surprisingly!) our NX series Cliés still can compete with what's being released in today's market. I'm just hoping for a decent image editing program.

Oh, your NR/NX series Cliés have 153,600 pixels. This Epson has 262,144. The Toshiba has 307,200 (640x480). The Toshiba PPC actually has a better resolution screen!
