Buy TG50 now or wait until March for the next version?

Hi!



I am planning on buying a japanese version of the PEG-TG50. I think that it's simply the most gorgeous pda on the market. It's so slim and so stylish, with the beautiful metal casing, and lighted keyboard. It looks like a gem. Just beautiful.


Since I will be writing a lot in Japanese on the clie, I have to buy a japanese version. But the PG50 was released in March 2003 in Japan! It's almost a year old now! TOO OLD! Since new PDAs always come out in the spring, I am wondering weither I should buy it now (with the 11MB usable memory, ouch!), or wait a while for the TG60 (or whatever they choose to call it), which should have at least double the memory, and surely a faster processor too.



Any idea on how long it should take for the next version to come out? I suppose that it will be in the same amazing casing, and still feature the LCD screen (I will wait for OLED- limited life span is a no-go with me!)

My advice is: If you can wait, do so. Both Palm & Sony will be coming out with OS 6 devices this Spring. Besides the newer OS, they will almost certainly have better hardware too (more memory, please).

(No, I don't know for sure that new devices are coming out, but would be highly surprised if they didn't.)

Why are you using alot japanese? I own a Japanese palm because I living here and I need to have both for my needs here. The OS6 should be released in March. Thats what info I received here in Tokyo.

I have a feeling it might come out soon, after the boxing day madness, the TG50 dropped $50 cnd. that's a sign for me... I remembered this after the SJ 10 dropped in price and the SJ 22 came out shortly after ... or something like that. I find new models are way to expensive. are there ever bugs in upgraded models?? Don't want a TJ35 issue happening on me.

I say wait. I have an NX70V and hope to hold out until the new models are released. And if I decide not to get a new one for some reason, there should be some good deals on the NX80. :)

OTOH, the TG50 will be even cheaper by then.
