Well the problem i had with the NX or even w/ my N series is that I had to carry my digital camera around school. I would take pictures of people's class notes or the prof's lecture. This saves me a lot of time and saving trips to the copy machine. To have a pda and a 2 megapixel built in like this is very convenient. I was actually impressed with the quality of the pictures.

Comparing the NX: Yes the NZ is fatter. There are some added option which i like. The small little buttons for the "to do , calandar, phone book , memo." I think the way they designed it is a lot better because on the NX I always had the problem of opening my pda just to hit that button.

One great added button is the voice recording. Finally they put the capture button and a voice recording separate while before you got to choose .. one button for either "movie, picture, or voice record."

The keyboard on the NZ feels a lot better. On the NX you had to press so hard. I like the fact that they bade the "BS" button bigger.

Another great thing is that you can now just put a new battery in while you're on the run or if you camera dies while taking those "kodak" moements.

The screen for some reason feels a little better. I dont' know how to describe it.

The only great thing that came out of the NZ being fatter is that it doesn't feel like it's goin to break. When i hae the NZ, sometimes i felt like i might break it. Just my personal feeling.

Cons: WiFi card CF at the botton. This kind of bothers me. I dont' understand why they dind't make it built in. The stylus being next to the side of the screen... i don't know i guess Sony really tried to conserve space. The stylus does seem likea a 5 cent plastic toothpick.

Yes it is bulky, but having a N series or an NX w/ my Dsc P5... well that took too much pocket space. If you're thinking in terms of pda and ignoring the fact that it's a 2 megapixel cam then you probably shouldn't get one beucase you're goin to be complaining the whole time.

i love my NZ ... do you.... let me hear your story....

Nice post.

Seriously, considering all of the features packed into this thing, I don't think it's big at all...

Will contribute an article when they deliver my NZ to my house on the 20th and when I get back from a road trip to be able to "test drive" them.

I agree the NZ is marvellous. The screen is brighter for sure. The camera is big but hey it has a zoom and all.
It does not feel flimsy at all and so I also like the solid feel as well.
The card reader is also good-I live in Japan and it is great to have it.
The Wifi card in the bottom is a good idea actually as the card does not get in the way of the camera-but it does get in the way if you want to use both on the NX.
Also you get used to the tooth pick. If you want the most full fetured PDA in history then get the NZ.

I want an NZ just because of the camera. I use the camera on my nx all the time, but the quality is not good enough for me. Hopefully, the NZ is my solution!

I think the Nz will do you fine for the camera but what kind of shoots are you taking?

Nothing professional, but I do need a camera for work. A lot of times I need to take pictures of box designs, poorly loaded trailers, customers ideas for logo designs, etc. Nothing that you need an "exact" picture, just something pretty clear. I just don't always feel like carrying my 4 MP camera around with me. And since I always carry my clie, it's a perfect combo!

Yes it will work for what you want and more. The camera is clear and it supports three resolutions:
320x240
640x480
1600x1200

And works well with and without using the flash.
If take more that 10 photos in a day it may be a good idea to get the extra battery as well-I did.

Go for it.

It sounds great! My NX would be perfect for me if it had the NZs camera, so I think i'm going to buy the NZ...just when..hmmmm..

The stylus, that threw me for a loop when I first picked the NZ up, I couldn't find the stylus... My co-worker and I thought Sony must have forgotten it until I looked a little closer.

My friend had to show me where the Stylus was too.

Then I wnet out with it for the first time yesterday and forgot to put it back in and so got to the station with no stylus.
Made to the nearest computer store and phew they got the stylus for the NZ and so I brough a pack of three and so now I have four of them-better to be safe than sorry.
