RAM Question

Here's a basic one... :)

I was running out of space on RAM, I had about 1-2MB left. No problem, I have fat memsticks! But then there are problems anyway! Apparently even if on memstick, the games/apps need to have enough regular RAM to run. It seems they're being copied over to regular RAM when I run them. Is this how it works? Do I need to keep a cache of RAM available at all times for the apps on my memstick to use? I though the Clie reserved 4MB just for this purpose?

The 4mb heap for the most part is for apps to work with while they are running (eg. Netfront downloads webpages to there. When you run an app there has to be enough room in RAM for it to fit no matter what. The heap RAM is most useful for emulation b/c the ROMS don't have to be copied into RAM (so with the Power48 Calculator you don't need 3mb free).
