I Just got a Sony Handycam for xmas. It records on mini dvd discs and came with software to convert to MPEG2. How can I watch these on my NX70?

I'm not sure if this will work for MPEG2, but MPEG files can be converted via the "Convert to CLIE" utility. (I have an NX-73, but I assume the NX-70 works the same way.) I do this through Windows Explorer: place the Memory Stick in a USB Reader/Writer; highlight the MPEG file on the computer; right-click and select "Convert to Clie," and the file will be copied on to the MS in the MQV format, which can be read by Clie Viewer.

looks like you'll have to get a program to convert the MPEG2 files into MPEG1 format, and then "convert to clie" should work... i think a program called TMPGEnc will do it, but i can't remember where to find it. i'm sure there's others out there as well

VirtualDub is the best free program you can use for converting video into the right format. It can be downloaded easily (not sure I spelled that one right) at Download.com (type it in the search text field in the upperright)
