Pardon the new guy

I have just jumped on the Clie bandwagon. Mostly I am lovin' it. But little things keep poppin' up that can frustrate me.
The most recent one--when I try to download a background to my memory card I get:

The following file(s) could not be installed to the Memory Stick because there is no application on your handheld to open these files.
If you have recently installed such an application, please run that application and then perform a HotSync operation.

I have installed YiShow and I am using a skin, just can't get the background to go. It is most likely me doing something wrong, but I have exhausted my brain power trying to figure it out.

Any tips?

Welcome to ClieSource!
Have you tried using MSImport to put the background directly onto the MemoryStick?
Maybe I should ask this first: Did you install the Clie Palm Desktop from the CD that came with your new Clie?
There may be a work-around, but I think it's tricky for a new user.
Anyway, post your answer and I'm sure I or another member can help you.

You're the greatest. I alread had the Clie Desktop up and I had even experimented with MSImport. However, I did't want to start messin' around with files too much in there...least I cause a glitch.

Thanks to your advice, I just took an image from Adobe Photoshop, saved it as a BMP, and then (after a mishap of first trying to save it as a os style BMP --which is slightly different from a windows style BMP) was able to create my very own, first background.

It is only a matter of time now. Look out, I will be making my own skins in no time. (Don't hold your breath)

Any suggestions on the best program to design your own skins from anyone out there.

Hopefully someone can answer your skin making question, because I don't know. You might try doing a search here at CS for that topic.

Only theme maker I know is that for Zlauncher, don't know bout Yishow...*Are you crazy...Yishow? :p * hehe, just kidding, but here is Zlauncher theme maker from Festus440 :) Those theme makers are really great to have soo much patience to go and make a theme. I tried and just got tired of it, I'll leave it to the pros hehe.
